Electric Tripwire
This will work for anything needing an electric current. Weather it is to set off an alarm, make a light go off, or make an explosive set off (I don’t advise that…), this is the perfect way to do it, and for very cheap. I will say sorry in advanced for no pics, I don’t have a working digital cam, and I refuse to use the old disposable ones.
First what you need to do is get your cheap supplies ready.
1. a WOODEN clothes pin
2. two lengths of copper wire*
3. a battery that will power what you want to make go off. (I use 9volt)
4. some thin conductive metal or metal caps(my cheap ass used two iron thimbles my grandmother had)
5. the object to make work.
6. small wooden wedge
*the copper dosnt have to be copper, but I find it works the best
Now, to set up your circuit.
Take the clothes pin and put one of the copper wires on it the bottom peice. If you are using metal caps just fit the cap over the wire and the bottom piece. If your using foil of some sort, wrap the wire a few times, I wouldn’t glue it because (im not 100% sure, but) the glue may melt while the current flows through it.
Next, take the other wire, and follow the same steps above, but to the top piece. After you have done this, drill or some how poke a hole in to your wooden wedge and run some clear thread or fishing wire through it. Tie it so that you have a long piece of thread commin out from one side, and a knot up at the wooden wedge. Place this in to the center of your clothes pin, to separate the top and bottom.
Connect one of the wires to the object you want to set off. For example, an alarm, and then the other wire to the battery. Wrap the wire around both of the (don’t know the real name) knob things. Lastly, take the thread from the wedge and string it across a doorway or two trees, or if your going to use it as a pull string detonator, just make sure you have enough to stand FAR away.. I don’t want this used for explosives, but its destined to happen, so just use caution when doing it.
How it works
What happens is theres a current running through the wire from the battery. When the wedge is pulled out the two wires meet and the current travels through both, and then to the object the 2nd wire is hooked to. This powers the object till the battery runs out. Don’t toutch the wire though, your gona get a shock..
