My friend gave me two Ipod 4th generation 20 gigs, and both were broken. Fortunatly, i managed to save one but the other didnt make it. So! I cracked it open to see what was on the inside!
First, you’ll need a guitar pick. Something like this.
And an Ipod!
Now, slide it between the acrylic finish and the metal case. I suggest sticking with a pick, since metal objects are more likely to hurt the hardware and breaking any salvagable parts.
Now, bring it up towards the top near the headphone jack. That part is alot stronger than the connective wiring where the charge/music port is at.
After that, it should pop right off, and you can take the back off. Be gentle. There is another wire connecting the headphone jack with the motherboard.
Theres the harddrive! 20 gigs of pure entertainment!
Flipping the hardrive up, we can see the "motherboard" and the battery. It isnt a mercury battery, which was a surprise for me because i dont know a damn thing about batteries.
The HD has a rubber blue casing around the edges, most likely for shock protection or general protection from anything that might happen inside a closed shell. Funny thing, i found grains of sand or something sticking to it when i first opened it. My camera is a piece of shit, so it wouldnt pick up that much detail.
Unfortunatly, there are some screws i need to get past in order to uncover the screen and the click wheel. I dont have the proper screw drivers, so im just going to leave it alone.

All you did was copy an old egg that showed how to open your iPod the EXACT SAME WAY, and you just added three extra pictures of what the inside looked like.
Nice job captain obvious, why not just open up a cd case and show us the inside?
Btw, could your pictures be any blurrier?
