okay so we want to make a small wave tutorial :) this is how we do it:
well the basics first go open a new thing, no matter what size, best size is 1024 x 768
1. Okay first set your foreground color (the square in front) to the color 4cb9dd just copy and paste into the little numbers on the bottom , Filter>render clouds:
2. Then Duplicate the layer. (drag the layer to the little folder thing next to the trash can, or layer>duplicate layer...>click ok)
3. Then Filter>Distort>ripple (settings are amount: 638 size:large):
Then, Set the Layer copy (the duplicated layer) to Overlay:
4. Now filter>brush strokes>dark strokes (settings balance : 9 black intensity: 3 White intensity : 6):
5. Then filter>distort>Oceanic ripple (settings ripple size:15 ripple magnitude:14):
Now duplicate the layer copy. (Remember, not the original background, the duplicated background you duplicate) You should have 3 layers (backround, background copy, background copy 2).
6. Now Filter>blur>guassian blur (settings Radius:4.9):
7. last step!! Set background layer 2 (as shown in diagram) to lighten, thereofe to get that effect of lightish blue :) thank you
my final result is: Waves we all get different results depending on the resolution you put, meaning size.
