Backyard Volcano
This is a small scaled volcano right in your backyard. It looks really cool and it will amaze little kids.
What you need: -A pile of dirt, mud, or sand
-A small cup
-Any explosive you want
-A home made saltpeter smoke bomb
-Perhaps some flash powder to help it ignite
For this volcano, you will need a place to make the volcano. I recommend a pile of sand or mud. You will need to shape it into a volcano-like form. Then you have to put a small cup on the top, so whatever you are using does not come in contact with the sand or mud.
My Volcano
Put the smoke bomb and anything you want to inside the cup. Then put some explosive powder that might make a flash or smoke. You can put anything you want to in the cup then step away and ignite. The reason there are 2 videos is because for some reason I couldn’t upload the complete video so I split it in two. Part 1Part 2 After it ignited correctly it looked very cool.
If you want more of an explosive effect, instead of the cup, put a PVC pipe as deep ad it can go and fill it up with gunpowder, flash powder, saltpeter and sugar, fire works, anything you want to.
You can even fill it completely with an explosive powder, put a fuse trough, then jam it and put a smoke bomb on top so it looks like a normal volcano that just happens to blow up at the middle of the smoke session.
With this kind of volcanoes you can say goodbye to vinegar and bicarbonate for good.
This is just how to give it a smokey look, but there are many other ways to give it lava which i will later on post.
My experiment: After the first one, I did the same but in a smaller scale and with an unmelted saltpeter and sugar combination.
I achieved this by putting match heads in the bottom, then putting a bit of explosive powders, then some sugar, and then some saltpeter. I stuck the fuse so it would reach the sugar. The flashy effect. It would have been better but the tree was in the way.
I did not melt the sugar and saltpeter together and I got this effect. So I will try it a bit more to make it better. You can add this to your normal one for a flashy effect.
Sorry there isn’t a video but it was very badly shot.
