Everybody loves lightsabers, but those toy lightsabers look pretty gay in a picture, just look at this guy:
But, I’m about to teach you how to turn that $5 lightsaber from 1999 into a real lightsaber, using the magic of photoshop.
First, open up the picture of you holding the toy lightsaber, we all have one in our attic somewhere, using Photoshop, I’ll be using cs1, but CS2 will work as well.
If you don’t have photoshop, you can get it from http://thesaltinez.com
Now, use the line tool (its the one selected in the previous picture), and give it a weight of about 5 pixels (weight is on the toolbar)
Make sure the foreground color is white (the one on the left, thats overlapping the one on the right), and draw a line from the bottom center of the light end of the saber, all the way to the top center of it.
Now go to Layer>Layer Style>Outer Glow
Click the color box under the word "Noise", and change it to whatever the color of the toy lightsaber is, if it’s a white one, any color will work.
Change "Spread" to 11, and "Size" to 15, then click "OK"
You’re done! Just save it as a .jpeg image, and don’t worry, the lines around the white area will go away when you save it.
