Visiting blocked WebPages.
Ok I know there has been a lot of ways to gain access to blocked web pages so I’ll go over some of them quick then get to the way I’m pushing.
If you dont want to see the old methods scrool to the red text and read on
Proxy servers are the most common but also blocked by almost any good administrator.
Back doors are also very popular but hard to find. These were more popular when google first came out but are now mostly fixed.
Side searching or more commonly known as double searching this is not very popular and most people don’t even know how to do it and that is because it only works with very large web pages. What you do with this is go to google or yahoo and search lets say rotten eggs then copy an unusual looking address like http://www.rotteneggs.com/r3/show/se/1.html not rotteneggs.com. Then go to a different search engine and search the address you found. This should let you in. Most blocking programs for schools like cablevision have locked this method.
Onto the new and affective methods
File Driving or Using a side access is the easiest way to get past a block. Here’s how you do it.
First get one of these.
you probably want a 1 gb they have them for 15 at wall mart.
This is where you can pick up mozilla firefox portable.
Download this right to your usb drive and if you wish to can install the email component.
Now you will need to open firefox and go to internet options and set the history to 0 days and then if it asks to set as primary internet search. Say no (if you hit yes it was share history with the secondary or primary explorer.)
Now set your homepage to google.com no hyphens no http:
You only need to do this once, and avoid typing in the top address bar only type in the google bar.
This doesn’t leave a history and wont once you pull the usb there will be no record of you ever accessing the internet. unless you open a video with windows media player.
I was going to spread the portable firefox word here in an egg. Too late now though.
At my school it didn’t let you on EVERY web page, it still had restictions. It did how ever allow us to go on most sites, aslong as not porn or lots of swearing. I used it for mainly games sites.
A good games site I found, well it’s actually pretty shit but should get through most school blocks is www.learn4good.com/games. Gets be through classes.
A word of warning although this can be hard to keep it a secret, it’s now banned at our school, too many people were using it, and he clocked on to it... Somehow.
I forgot to say anything that has a “you must be 18” and has an enter and leave button, you wont be able to get into.
Like porn
But I must say if you are to lazy to keep deleting history this comes in handy.
Oct 10, 2006 10:41 pm - Portable Firefox still makes a folder in C:\\Documents and Settings\\**USER NAME**\\Applicati n Data\\.
But you can only see it if you have "view hidden folders enabled". Anyway it’s still a good program.
