I am not a trained doctor, and thus you shouldn’t use my advice as a proper diagnosis. This is just to give you a few tips on how to clean an infected cut. If your infection worsens while cleaning it how I explained, stop right there and go to the doctor for proper medicine. He may give you an antibacterial cream to place on the scab.

I will not include pictures in this egg, for it would not be appropriate and some members may find them innapropriate for certain age groups that may or may not be on this website.
I’d like to say I’m making this egg because I felt like making an egg and I haven’t seen something like this on RE. I know its not a prank and that RE is a prank website but look at what directory I’m aiming for, How To/Helpful Guides/Health.
Now if that hasnt answered any of your questions or explained something please just leave a comment, but if your comment is something along the lines of "0* thats sick" or "0* common knowledge" don’t even bother posting it.
Yes it may be sick and yes it is common knowledge but not everyone knows everything they should and everything in life isn’t sunshine and flowers, there is stuff that most of us wouldn’t want to know but must know.
Now that I’ve hopefully taken care of the majority of newbies and idiots I can continue on with my egg on how to clean an infected cut.
The two types on infected cuts I will explain are a exposed, infected cut on your hand for example and an infected toe.
Quote:
First off the materials you will need to clean an infected toe:
-tweezers
-a pair of nail scissors
-a few tissues
-salt water(will be explained how to make it properly)
-bandaids
-endurance to momentary pain.
1) Take your nail scissors and locate where the infection started. It will most likely be near the inside of your toe by the nail (if it is an infection caused by a broken nail).
2) Now if your infection isn’t developped enough as to not have pus inside please skipped this step.
Take your nail scissors and make a small inscision on the top of the infection. This may hurt. Once the cut is made you may notice a bit of pus coming out DO NOT WIPE IT UP YET. Squeeze the infection till it stops hurting as much OR starts hurting. Now wipe the pus up. You will notice your infection has decreased in size because of the pus that has left it.
3) Now you want to find what caused the actual infection. Most of the time with an infected toe it is cause by a piece of nail that is either stuck or broke off during cutting your nail, or as unhygienic as it may seem, bitting your toe nail. If this is the case you will need to remove it with your tweezers. This is where it gets a bit tricky, you will need to use the scissors to move the infection upwards abit and use the tweezers to reach inside.
Once you have the tweezers on the piece of nail take 3 deep breathes and pull very hard with alot of pressure to keep the nail within the scissors. This will hurt and it will cause bleeding but it helps immensly. Use a tissue to wipe up the blood and continue to the next step.
4) Now boil a bit of water or just run some hot water from the tap. Once you have your hot water put in 2 teaspoons of salt in the water. Let it disolve then place your foot with you infected toe within the water.
The salt water acts as a disinfectant and helps remove the infection.
Once your foot has bathe for atleast 10 minutes remove it, dry it off really well and place a bandaid over the cut.
5)Now repeat step 4 once a day till the infection is gone.
Now that thats covered lets get on to cleaning an infected cut on your hand.
Quote:
Materials:
-Salt water
-Bandaids
1) Take your hot salt water (explained in the infected toe section) and place your hand in it. Now what you should try to do is pretend your washing your hands with salt water paying attention to rubbing the infected cut with salt water. Once your done washing for at least 1 minute dry it off and bandage it.
2) Repeat the salt water bath once a day till the infection is gone.
Remember, I am not a trained doctor, and thus you shouldn’t use my advice as a proper diagnosis. This is just to give you a few tips on how to clean an infected cut. If your infect worsens while cleaning it how i explained, stop right there and go to the doctor for proper medicine. He may give you an antibacterial cream to place on the scab.
Oct 19, 2006 4:34 pm - Thats called an ingrown toe nail. If its to far back the whole nail has to be removed. That happened to my mom and she says that hurts more than giving birth. 5*
Oct 21, 2006 12:38 pm - ya i had an ingrown toenail to. it hurts like hell. i just left it for a long time hoping it would go away till i could harldy walk, the i went 2 the docter
Oct 25, 2006 5:36 pm - you should clean the cut with hydrogen peroxide the first time because its a better disinfectant but dont use it again because it kill the "good" cells as well as the "bad" ones
