Ok so you want supplies for making rockets etc, so the assumed chemicals that you desire are, things like potassium nitrate, sulfur, powdered charcoal and lots of more.
For lots of expensive and hard to get chemicals
http://www.fronine.com.au/stains_pl.html#P
The following chemicals will do the following to the colour of the flame etc used in fireworks generally if you don’t believe me google it
Barium Chloride creates green costs $50 for 500g
Calcium Chloride $52 for 500g creates orange
lithium carbonate $124.50 for 500g creates bright red
sodium nitrate $35.95 500g yellow

Lithium (left), sodium (middle) and barium (right)
For sulfur go to bunnings and ask for fertilizer or go to rualco.
(alt+P)
Rualco have sulfur, potassium nitrate, copper sulphate also known as “Blue Stone” which creates a green flame. Type in your post code to find the closest one.

If you don’t have access to a rualco store go to hydroponics stores look for them using yellow pages online its good.
Acetone can be bought from Bunnings and is quite cheap, good for making black powder, mainly made up of alcohol.
http://www.metalpowders.com.au/products/nonferrous%20powders.htm
The above website has every metal powder you could want but you have to give reason why you need it. For example I want iron powder so I would say.
I mix it with epoxy resin and fill air gaps in my coil guns with it and that sort of thing.
The cost of Iron powder which is less than 35 microns is
$15 cost $10 shipping so $25

Aluminum powder is available in most paint stores.
Nov 10, 2006 11:59 pm - you type in your post code it will bring up your local store and then you go to the store and pick it up
Nov 11, 2006 8:58 am - You don’t have to use sodium nitrate that is $35 for that little. Use sodium chloride, aka table salt. For pinkish use potassium chloride, a table salt substitute. You’re getting ripped the fuck off on calcium chloride, look for it as a desiccant or ice melter. I have 25KG for about 8$ US. BTW: please, do NOT make explosives out of these chemicals, they will become even HARDER to come buy and purchase. So don’t do it.
Nov 11, 2006 2:06 pm - what do u mean alluminum powder is available in most paint stores? ive been to ace hardware and other places and none of em have it >.
Nov 13, 2006 12:49 am - you all know this is the best that we have, probbaly way better then what i thought we had. so dont be telling us not to do it because its cheaper then having to risk getting a fine of over a thousand dollars for importing them
