Theres probably a hundred different ways to make a potato gun but this one is probably the most simple and effective, sorry if your design is similar, I made these before I met rotten eggs. This might seem old, but if you dont have a gun its really fun to shoot.
Supplies:
-3" PVC pipe- combustion chamber (any length over a foot)
-1 and 1/2 inch PVC pipe- barrel (2 foot is good)
-3" threaded end piece
-3" threaded cap
-3 inch to 1 & 1/2 inch reducer
-Lighter that has a button or grill lighter (in pics)
-Hair Spray or Deodorant
-PVC Glue or silicon works(not Best)
once you get the parts assembled sharpen the barrels end so it cut the potatoes well
After Drilling a hole big enough for the ignitor to fit into, insert it with glue and space the sparking wires less than a centimeter apart
The result should look like this -- I put the ignitor on the end so that if you mess up you can always just buy another end cap and not have to rebuild the entire gun. Wraping a bolt in paper towels with tape makes a good replacement potato and if you make a good one they can even work better than potatoes.
Using the ignitor from a lighter works for a good spark

To get ideas of new designs and upgrades for your gun checkout this site http://www.spudfiles.com/ and then go to the "album" section. 5* for the effort.
