Chapter 1
We went to France and Germany for two days to look at the trenches (don’t ask why)

Anyway, I took my camera hoping for egg material

- Day 1 -

The first day we went to a place which was called hill 62

(Sorry for some of the quality of the pictures, I forgot my tripod)

A strange hut, we’d look inside later

Going in to a trench

Another picture

A rifle slit in a corner

Some craters

We went in to this dark passage way

It was pitch black and I couldn’t see anything

I switched on the flash because the pictures would have been just black if I hadn’t

Almost their…

Yeyy, we made it

Looking down on the trenches

A bit blurry

In the trench looking out

Another crater

The trenches

A pano of the trenches

Looking in to the trench

Barbed wire along the outside

Extremely blurred but I thought I’d put it in anyway

The end of the trench which was very low

Once again, terribly blurred. This is actually a crater filled with rain water.

A dugout in the trench

Again without flash

To the right of the dugout was another tunnel.

Another crater

The hut in the first picture

The front

Inside the hut, not much

2nd panoramic picture of the trenches

The last picture of the day

- Day 2 -

We drove for half an hour and went to a place called the Somme battlefields. I think I took some better pictures than I did on the first day.

The sun shining through the trees

The sun again

The entrance to one of them

Panoramic picture of the view looking out over the top

The metal poles holding the sides of the trench up

Another pano of the view

The trench with some trees in the background

Another sunny shot

A grassy crater

A zig zag shaped trench

This was the last picture of the day. I tried to be artistic and get the clouds in. The ground is a silhouette because the sun was behind it

This took me quite some time to make so please rate fairly.

i give you 5*, mostly because i went heir on a school trip and u have lots of photos. You think you had it bad, when we were their the tunnel was flooded, has to walk through a foot of muddy water; also that watery crater has fun to jump.

yeh. there was a piece of corrigated iron in the middle

we were jumping on that and quickly jumping to the other side before it sunk...

4*

The panos were nice, but you should of provided some historical information on the place, and historical pictures if you could of found any.

:O the somme was an epic WWI battle. not sure about hill 62.

Although my guess is that it was. most places filled with trenches are WWI
