First of all, this is a very practical, easier variant of the classic 3 Card Monte scam.
Secondly, sadly no pics for you today due to a lack of a digital camera. I shal try to explain it well.
You will need:
>4 coins of the same value
>a sticker of a smaller diameter than the coins
>charisma
>balls
So, you put the sticker on one side of a coin. This is the ’win’ coin. After you have dealt the coins on a table, this is what the mark will bet that s/he can find. However, you can choose as to whether s/he will be right or wrong, using a simple sleight of hand.
The trick depends on the mark’s assumption of the order the coins go down in.
>Hold the 4 coins in a stack, between thumb and middle finger, and repeatedly show the mark that the ’win’ coin is on the bottom of the stack.
>Rest the edge of the bottom coin on the table surface, and slide the top coin off the pile with
your forefinger. Do it once more, siding a second coin off the stack, to the right of the first coin. This is all done in plain view, and the spectator is now convinced that you are dealing the coins top to bottom, and assumes that the last coin you deal will be the ’win’ coin.
>It is at this stage that you use a sleight. Instead of sliding the third coin off, release the bottom (win) coin. Slide your forefinger over the third coin and drag its edge across the bottom coin.
It will look like you siply released the third coin, when you actually released the ’win’ coin. The combination of sight and sound gives a perfect illusion.
> now place the last coin, which the mark believes to be the ’win’ coin at the end of the row. Do a bit of sliding the coins about, but not too fast, or the mark wil lose the coin they wrongly believe to be the ’win’ coin, and guess, giving them a 25% chance of a win. Not good.
>Tell them to place a bet, and chose their coin; they will, of course, be wrong, at which point you liberate their money from them!
NB: Do not make them lose every time, or at least not on their first go. Let them build up confidence, and place a larger bet (which you do take)
Also remember that whilst this can be completely convincing, you should practice it loads befoe trying it out.
