-This is generally for Halo 2 possibly other games
-This egg is on how to mod your xbox controller resulting with a switch that will enable you to crouch with out holding the thumbstick down. This might seem kinda pointless but it has helped me a lot and it looks cool. Me and my friend came up with this he posted his on hackaday.com
Supplies:
-Xbox controller
-Soldering Gun with solder
-5 to 10 inches of wire
-the switch (optional)
-Start by taking your controller apart, there is a seventh screw hidden under the microsoft sticker.
-Then take two 5+ inch pieces of wire and solder them underneath the left trigger. (closer pic below
-These are the two soldering points, avoid the X spot
-Okay thats it, the when the wires touch they short circuit causing your player to crouch.
-Make a small hole on the bottom and pull your wires through.
For mine I just twist the wires together. But if you want you can do what my friend Cody did. He took a switch that can be bought at radio shack for 2$ and connected it to the wires then he mounted it on the bottom of his controller.
This mod is really simple and very effective especially when your sniping.
Great because when you crouch dowm in Halo it takes you off the radar.

Dec 03, 2006 11:04 pm - n ow, I’m not usually the one to pick, this is a really good egg, but in the what you need section, it says soldering GUN, what I think you meant to say was soldering IRON, now, I know that some loser is going to say that what I just said is obvious and pointless, but there are some idiots that would use a 800 watt soldering gun for this, just because it says so, SO DON’T USE A SOLDERING GUN, use a SOLDERING IRON instead, 4* btw
Dec 04, 2006 8:04 am - you could possibly do it with glue, but I’ve tried it and it broke after i put the controller back together, the light switch would probably be to big.
Dec 04, 2006 11:51 am - haha i just did this with the light switch and used liquid electrical tape instead of solder it works good cause i was able to mount the light switch in the bottom of my controller
Dec 04, 2006 1:58 pm - alright i spose 3* from me because this mod isnt really universal on all games i spose on some games it could be used as a rapid fire mod but appart from that i cant think of much . if u were gonna take appart our controller then i would do some other stuff as well as this i mean at least install seom LEDS if its a transparent controller and the switch on the last pic i mean jesus that must stick out a bit when playing
