Okay. So 2 years and a few days ago, something tragic happened. Dimebag was shot by a fan-turned-hater. Unfortunately he didn’t make it. I would like to show you how to do one of his tricks - The high pitched squeels.
What you need:
A guitar
A Whammy Bar
An Amp
And a lead
Step 1
Okay to start off your going to need to set up your guitar/amp whatever. and put your whammy bar in your guitar. From there you need to find a fret on the G string, I suggest the 9th or 3rd.(the squeels sound better here, i’m just using this as an example and when your better do them wherever you want to.)
Step 2
Now you have your fret, put your middle finger under the string, with your nail on the bottom of the string. Then your going to flick your finger like your flipping someone off.
Put your finger one fret infront. its easier to play the harmonic like this.
Step 3
Once you’ve done that and your string is playing, dump your whammy bar. For those who dont know what ’Dumping’ your whammy bar means, it means to push/pull it downwards, making the strings sound lower. You have to do this relatively quickly. Do not dump the whammy ultra far, just enough.
Step 4
Then with your first finger, while the whammy is dumped and your string is playing you will lightly tap your finger ont the fret you want. Those who know how to do artificial or other harmonics, you will find this easier. This step is hard to explain but you will understand better in the video.
Sorry, In the picture i used my middle finger not my first finger.

You really need a floyd rose trem for this trick, because Dimebag pulled up on the bar after he sounded the squeele too. |
