ok i just rembered how to make neon lights.
materials neon gas, florecent light tubing or tubed glass.
heat torch, and not being stupid, and a metal clamp thingie(it like a pliars but on the other end it is rounded to grasp the tubing.
instructions ok what u gwonna do is take the heat torch and heat it up(duh) then get one end of the tubing and heat it up and use a hammer and GENTLY pound it shut completly.
then u gonna form it into whatever u want for dis u jus gotta heat part of the thing up breifly and bend it. for dis we gonna be doin something simple, its gonna be a straight line.
ok now that u have one end closed off, on the other end heat up the end of the tube, heat it up and form a nozzle, it has to be about the size of the nozzle on the bottle of neon gas has to be very close. then insert the nozzle from the neon gas into the glass tubing. then to make sure it dont leak, heat up the glass nozzle and met it to the neon gas nozzle. fill it up with neon gas, then with it still connected, heat up the glass nozzle BEHIND IT and close it off.
then u need 2 metal plates(like the ones u would find on a plug that goes in a wall, just break em off). then with those 2 metal plates, heat up one that same end of the glass that the nozzle came out of. and pout the metal plates in. make em about the width of of a normal wall plug. then to make the neon gas light up, just get an extension cord and plug one end nto the neon tube and plug the other end into the wall. it should light up if u did it right.
Dec 11, 2006 1:15 pm - Junk. Would only give you one possible color. Dangerous. Most people do not have access to neon or glass tubing. Glass melting on your fat fingers = not fun.
To make other colors besides what this idiot describes, you would need different gases. 0* on every acct I have.
Dec 11, 2006 1:20 pm - You have no fucking clue what your doing kid. If you want a prayer of this working you need to have an electrode or something conductive in both ends of the tube, and the neon gas needs to be under vacuum if you want to get it into the glass. But this is a good egg idea. Ill get some pics for the process later..
