what happens to your body when you are drunk: as far as I know there is no egg covering this subject. But I may be wrong.
Contents:
What is alcohol?
what it does to your body
What is alcohol: The alcohol present in alcoholic beverages is ethanol.
eth- = 2 carbon molecules
-an- = no double bonds between the carbons
-ol = alcohol functional group
basic organic chemistry will teach you this, but I thought I better put it in.
structure of ethanol:
Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant which
means it impairs the brain, and spinal cord (central nervous system duh)
Alcohol has a biphasic effect on the body, which means it two phases:
the first stages, is a fairly euphoric phase, where you are happy, relaxed, and cheerful etc.
But as the night goes on and the drinking gets heavier, the next phase kicks in, this phase is slightly different, you start to get blurred vision, impaired motor skills, slurred speech, memory loss and the list goes on!
Ethanol(alcohol) is a chemical, which is produced when yeasts reacts with sugars, when this happens, ethanol and CO2 is produced as a bi-product.
What it does to your body: Ethanol is a small molecule, this is why it is absorbed into the bloodstream in the stomach, and can easily pass from blood capillaries into the brain, this is when intoxication starts to kick in!
At an BAC(Blood Alcohol Concentration) of approximately 0.03 to 0.12 % the "euphoric" stage starts to set in, during this stage you may start to feel:
In a better mood
Happy etc
Gain confidence
You attention span may be reduced
Your judgment may also be lowered
And you’ll have difficulty doing things such as texting, signing your name, writing etc.
and you’ll look a little like this:
The next stage of drunkenness is the drowsy/dull Stage(BAC = 0.09 to 0.25 %)
This stage includes:
Sleepiness
Trouble understanding things, and slight memory loss
There reaction time is slower(this is the results of the CNS[central nervous system] being depressed)
Impaired motor skills
all 5 senses(touch,smell,sight,hearing,taste) may
become impaired
and you’ll look a little like this:
after that stage comes the confused state(BAC = 0.18 to 0.30 %)
This stage includes:
Severe confusion and dizziness
Emotions are hightened - angry, effection etc
Speech, vision and awareness are impaired
Lack of proper communication skills
Pain respone is deminished
and you’ll look a little like this:
and start to think this is sexy:
this is where the stupor stage comes in(BAC = 0.25 to 0.40 %)
This stage includes:
severly impared movement, you can also slip into unconciousness(blackout)
Complete unawareness of surroundings, time, and personal actions
risk of death is high at this stage, due to alcohol poisioning, and the chance of choking on vomit while unconcious
and you’ll look a little like this:
after this stage, come probably my most hated stage...the coma stage(BAC = 0.35 to 0.50 %)
This stage includes:
Unconciousness
depressed reflexes
slower breathing, decreased heart rate, and death will usually occour at this stage.
and you’ll look a little like this:
after this death will set in, because the alcohol will depress the CNS to the poin where it will cease to function.
and you’ll look a little like this:
i hope this helped you understand what happens when you hit the piss rate fairly, i put a lot of work into this
