maybe some of you saw, i made an egg not too long ago called ’the simplicity of a rubix cube’. this is the first of 3 eggs on how to actually solve the rubix cube. This is Stage 1, the top layer of the cube.
I prefer to start with the white side of the rubix cube.
If you look at the cube you will notice that the middle of every side of the cube can never be moved, at least if you follow the rules you cant. the orange is always across from the red, the white is always across from the yellow, and the green is always across from the blue. this is how we know what color the side is.

okay, now to the solving.
staring on the white side.
like i said in my previous egg, the first thing you do is make a cross on the white side, or which ever side you start on. to do this you have to first find the square that has one white and one, lets say blue square. now, line that blue and white square up so that the blue side of the square is touching the blue middle square, like this
from that, just turn the blue side 180 degrees
if, you have all the squares, but the two colors are touching, then there is another simple technic to fix that.
for example:
move that bottom section to the right (or left, i just like right)
turn the side, in this case the blue side, 90 degrees so that your two red colors are touching.
now turn the red side 90 degrees to that the white side of the square is touching the center white square and the red colored side of the square is touching the red center square
dont forget to turn the blue side back to where it was so that both squares are in the right place
continue that until you have a cross, like so:
Next, we have to fill in the sides.
for example, look at this picture.
note the two middle colors, green and orange.
now look at this part of the cube.
see how the have all the 3 colors that are on the 3 sides touching the edge of the cube. this is getting a bit complex. move the green and orange and white side of the cube under where you want it to go.
you cant see the white side, but its above where the square is right now. move the square you just put under where you want it to go to the side.
now, move the green side (you cant see it in the pictures, but its opposite the blue) down 90 degrees, like so:
now move the white side you moved out of the way so that it is touching the white square that you just put into place.
and then turn the blue side back.
now the side is in place, and you can put the rest of the sides in place as well.
now take a look at this.
to get this piece in place, you have to get the white side to face you.
do what you would do if the white side where in the right place, but rotate the bottom 90 degrees more then you would if it were in the right place. that should turn the white side facing out. so that you can put it in place.
when you turn the red side, it the cube should look something like this
once you finish all the sides, you are done with the first stage.
it should look like this.
yeah. there ya go. stage one.
soon, i will post stage 2, and then stage 3, but this stuff is hard, so take in incruments.
i hope you found this insightful. look for my next post. |

 | Dec 11, 2006 7:36 pm - wow.... can the directions get any more confusing??? "turn the cude 90 degrees towards you then turn the middle horizantle cub and make it line up 90 degrees.... wow wtf... but for effort atleast. 4* |

 | Dec 11, 2006 7:40 pm - if you’re having a hard time understanding, the pictures say a hell of a lot. |

 | Dec 11, 2006 7:40 pm - yea but it looks cool |

 | Dec 11, 2006 7:49 pm - swisherblunt.
your link leads to the rotteneggs homepage. i got it from my friend, and anyone could go to a google and look up how to solve a rubix cube, but im just telling you how i do it.
dont be a hater |

 | Dec 11, 2006 8:24 pm - 3*
if you still need help with this, heres a good site
Rubixcube help
hope it helps ae |

 | Dec 11, 2006 8:58 pm - Someone just posted something like this....and it’s about the same but with more pics so 4* |

 | Dec 11, 2006 9:25 pm - 5 for the colors... |

 | ec 11, 2006 9:34 pm - you get a nice zero for false advertisement. solving one side of the cube does absolutly nothing. not a damn thing what so ever. |

 | Dec 11, 2006 9:54 pm - gambling jock u are a dumbshit if u read the title it says "stage 1" that means that the egg is not dont anyway 5 stars |

 | Dec 11, 2006 10:18 pm - http://scat.dk.com/
does t even load for me as of now |

 | Dec 11, 2006 10:21 pm - Im pretty sure that all the cubes are layed out differently..those are pretty hard directions too but your cool for knowing how they work |

 | Dec 11, 2006 11:18 pm - Sorry mate.
But i find these sort of eggs pointless.
2* |

 | Dec 11, 2006 11:36 pm - Some advice before this gets to confusing...
Introduce six faces: Up, Down, Left, Right, Front, Back
Each face has three directions: + = clockwise, - = counter clockwise, 2 = 180 turn.
This make notations like R2 LR U2 D2 F2 B2 possible.
This is much better than saying turn the right face 180, turn the left face 180, turn the up face 180, turn the down face 180, turn the front face 180, turn the back face 180.
Try not to rotate the axis! This changes the colors of the faces which causes confusion. Make the white face up, the blue face front.
Last tip, using your left hand, thumb on left face, fingers on right face.
There are six fixed faces. Keep them that way. Good luck. |

 | Dec 12, 2006 2:22 pm - this is verry confusing, and you need a new rubix cube |

 | Dec 12, 2006 5:18 pm - notice how the stickers are all peeled off he probably took them off and re arranged them. lol 5 cause it won’t make a difference one way or another. |

 | Dec 12, 2006 6:27 pm - o ya good explaing you sticker peeler i seen some 1 mix the cube up and hand it to this 1 persomn and he got the whole cube in less than 2 mins |

 | Jan 12, 2007 2:59 pm - you lied about your egg it should of said
first mix the colors up then peel off all the stickers then put them back on in the right place |

 | Feb 13, 2007 6:36 pm - you should have taught people alg. with using the f b u d l and r..and their inverses..so much easier..I can solve a cube easily every time..unless a freaking hoe takes off all the stickers!!!! yeah I’m pissed broke my damn cube..but yeah there are alot of sites on how to solve your cube..even tho I know how without any damn instructions | |
