Original egg made by Australiano on the 23rd, 24th and 25th Of December. Published on Christmas Day
First off, I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas, I hope you and your family all enjoy your day and have a good time.
So you read my last egg about a marble gun, and thought ‘Hey. That may be well and good and powerful, but I want MORE POWER!!!’ If you did, here is the gun for you!
This egg is separated into days because you need to let it dry before moving on. For each section (Day 1, Day 2 etc) I will post what I did on that day. You should do the same as what I did on each day for everything to be strong and what not.
DAY ONE
Parts
2 Litre soda bottle x2 20mm PVC elbow x2 1” PVC connecter x2 13mm Poly Garden valve x1 20mm Poly T piece x1 70cm of ¾” PVC x1 Length of ¾” PVC that fits your hand x1 Clear plastic tubing to fit over 13mm Garden valve(about 8cm) x1 Tyre valve x1 20mm PVC connecter x3 OPTIONAL:Grip to put over the handle(BMX/Scooter grip. Mine is foam) x1
Tools
Hacksaw
Heat gun
PVC glue(Not really a tool but…You get the drift)
Drill(not pictured)
Drill bit the size of tyre valve(not pictured)
Silicone
Caulking gun
Half Round file
Knife
Step 1 Drill a hole in the bottom of one of your 2 litre bottles. Push your tyre valve in. If you drilled the right sized hole it won’t leak.
Step 2 Take your T piece. Using your heat gun, Heat up one end of a 20mm connecter. Push it over one side of the T. Repeat this with the other 2 sides.
Step 3 Let those cool down. Once they have cooled, put a shortish piece of ¾” PVC into one of the ones sticking out horizontally. Mark out where it would end up if it was pushed all the way into the elbow. So you have a piece that fits in the elbow, and in the connecter with little amount of room between them. Cut 2 of these pieces out. Put PVC glue on the inside of the 2 20mm connecters sticking out horizontally. Push the little bits of PVC in. Now put PVC glue on the inside of one end of the elbows. push the elbows onto the little bit of PVC sticking out. You should end up with this. Make sure they are all level and straight.
Step 4 Using your heat gun once again, heat up one end of a 1” connecter. Push it over one bottle end. Take the lid off of course. Do this to both of them.
Step 5 Using your tube of silicone and your caulking gun, silicone around the bottom of the 1”connecter. Spread it out with your finger.
Step 6 Put them aside to dry, along with your elbows and T piece.
Grab your 13mm garden valve and your clear plastic pipe that fits over it snuggly. Push it onto one end of it and cut at the end.
Do this with the other end aswell.
Step 7 Using an offcut of ¾” PVC heat up one end and push it over one end of the valve. It doesn’t matter which end.
Once it has cooled down, cut away the excess up to the end of the valve.
Step 8 Once you have done that, grab your barrel. I made mine 71cm long. You can adjust yours but I think this is a good length. Heat up one end and push it over the other end of the valve.
Step 9 Put that aside and let it cool. Grab your piece of ¾” PVC that is around the length of your hand and put it in a vice. Using your half round file, file away some of the top so it will fit snug under the barrel. I just used an offcut of PVC to check.
End of day one Okay. That’s all for day 1. You should have made all the separate parts and they should all be drying. You should have these
DAY TWO
Parts
All the stuff from yesterday that you built
Tools
PVC Glue
Silicone
Caulking gun
Heat gun
Step 1 Using your heat gun, heat up the final 20mm connecter. Push the short end of your barrel in. It doesn’t have to be perfectly in line because you can swivel it, but try and get it straight.
Should look a bit like this
Step 2 Using your caulking gun, silicone around all the joins. Smear with your finger
End of day two By the end of day 2 your gun should be looking half decent. Tomorrow we will Attatch the handle and the bottles.
DAY THREE
Parts
Your completed gun, without chambers
Your handle
Some 1” PVC
Tools
PVC Glue
Silicone
Caulking gun
Heat gun
Hacksaw
Step 1 Put one end of your 1” PVC into the 1” connecter on the bottle. Mark off at the end. Put one end of the corner at the end of the 1”connecter and mark off before it bends. Cut on the last line.
Cut out 2 of these. Mine aren’t straight but it doesn’t matter.
Step 2 Put some PVC glue on the inside of one of your 1” connecters. Push one end of your 1” PVC in there. Do this with both of them. Using your heat gun, heat up the other and of 1” PVC and push it over the end of the elbow.
Step 3 Now once it has cooled, pull it off. Just twist and pull lightly. Put some PVC glue inside the 1” pipe and then push it back on. Cover the parts where it joins with silicone.
Step 4 Attatch your handle. I took my grip off and taped the PVC there first then put the grip back on. Let everything dry overnight and you’re done.
Here are some pictures of the finished product
Sorry if they are shit. Hope you enjoyed my egg, and Have a Merry Christmas!
Dec 24, 2006 9:05 pm - what ltmar? i have built an older version of this, and it got really deformed from people stepping on the chambers so i decided i would make a brand new one
Dec 25, 2006 1:45 pm - Very nice egg. Very organized, and nice pics. I just wish you would tell us how it works? Do you just pump up bottles with bike pump? Then also, how do you shoot it? 5*’s anyway.
Dec 26, 2006 12:56 pm - Looks pretty fragile, but looks pretty bad ass. It would be easier if you just used PVC pipe for chambers and you wouldn’t have to ghetto rig so much shit. How’s that gun shoot?
