Movie Download Quality Guide
Hello, this egg will instruct you on what kind movie quality you may want to download and what all the terms mean.
The quality source is indicated in the title for example(highlighted in bold):
CAM
A CAM file is the result of some dude sat in a cinema for the duration of the film with a camcorder recording the projection and hopefully not getting caught, these are usually the first to be released on the net and are watchable if your desperate to see the film.
The quality on the CAMS are always very low, you can get such interferences as people from the front row getting up for a piss and getting in the way of the projection. Some of the screen can be be cropped off due too the camera lens not being wide enough. If the film is a comedy the microphone on the camera can often pick up the laughter, also the picture isnt great and the sound isnt always something too write home about.
Overall: only watch if you really cant find any other better source / - 3/10

Telesync or TS
A Telesync is much like a CAM apart from the audio is recorded on a separate line from the visual and can be worse than CAM audio quality, although Telesyncs are normally filmed in empty cinemas by bent theater workers in the projector booth for better visual and you dont get no cunts laughing.
Overall: slight improvement on CAM’s / - 4/10

Telecine or TC
Telecine copies are directly copied from the film reels into a digital format so the quality is great from both audio and video aspects, the only downfall being that there aren’t many Telecine machines to do this and they cost a fair bit of do$h
Overall: are great if you can find these, not many films are put on Telecine / - 7/10

Screeners (VHS and DVD)
screeners are the best copies you can get your hands on before the actual DVD comes out to buy, screeners are used for film critics and others to review before the film hits the cinema, these are perfect quality and are often stole or the critics themselves will upload them too the internet, yet to try and keep people from uploading them, a watermark is put on and every so often a message will appear with the copyright details, example "property of paramount pictures 2006" and sometimes the picture will go into black and white. Screeners come in ’SCR’ and ’DVDSCR’...basically SCR’s are originally played on VHS and obviously DVDSCR’s are originally on DVD.
Overall: any type of screener is great if the film is not out on DVD yet but the VHS Screener’s are lower quality because it has come from video and may loose quality / SCR - 8/10 DVDSCR - 9/10

DVD rip
A DVD rip is the final release of illegal movie downloads, it is straight from the DVD that has been released by the movie company yet sometimes these are released a little earlier than when they officially come out, DVD rips can also contain the special features that come with the actual DVD
overall: the best source you can get / 10/10

Dec 26, 2006 7:48 pm - Divx vs DvD image I learned stuff I didn’t know and I have been DL movies for a long time. You can also download a full image of the DVD which can be over 4 gigs and will include the bonus features. If the file is 600-800 megs it is a .avi or Divx which will have to converted before it can be burned to a DVD.

Jan 08, 2007 7:21 pm - 5. Some movies on limewire dont have sources but I want to download them. Does anybody have any other suggestions for getting movies. If you do, please message me. Sometimes I find full episodes on youtube and play them with FLV player. I paste the URL to keepvids.com and download. This has pretty good quality.
