Hey Everyone, If you have any interest whatsoever in flash powder, rocketry, pyrotechnics, or just blowing shit up.
I just wanted to let everyone involved in pyrotechnics (whether it be making M80s, display shells or rockets) that the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has decided impose sanctions on the pyrotechnical hobby market. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: IF YOU BUY CHEMICALS OR MATERIALS FROM UNITED NUCLEAR, FIREFOX, SKYLIGHTER, CANNONFUSE.COM, ETC. STOCK UP NOW BECAUSE SOONER THAN LATER (IE IN THE COMING MONTHS) THERE ARE GOING TO BE LIMITS IMPOSED ON WHAT YOU CAN BUY.
Oxidizers (KClO4,KClO3,KNO3,NH4ClO4, etc) 1lb/person per year
Metallic Fuels (Al, Mg, Ti, Zn, etc) limits on mesh sizes (fineness and therefore reactivity)
Safety Fuse (this one is really stupid, who would limit the amount of fuse people have access too, its like they want us to die) 100ft/person per year
Tube (cardboard, etc) limits on length (over 10 inches only... although any idiot with a bandsaw can eat through this one in about 20 seconds).
What likely won’t be affected:
*Blackpowder
*Cannon Fuse sold by muzzleloading shops might escape the grasp of the CPSC.
*tubing, PVC piping, that’s over a certain length
The bottom line is... order your shit now (stock up by all means) from these companies because having access to a few years’ supply is better than having nothing at all. The CPSC’s case against Firefox.com was lost on December 21st, 2006, so they may start imposing legislature as soon as after the holiday recess on capitol hill. Also, perhaps we here at rotteneggs.com can help each other in the acquistion of chemicals and other materials from non commercial (ie bootleg, etc) sources in the future. Please join any of the pyrotechnics groups and start discussing this issue because it applies to everyone who likes to blow shit up.

(a) I didn\\’t post in the forums because quite honestly I use this site maybe 3 times a year anymore and I just wanted to let you know.
(b) There’s no way this was posted 6 months ago, because the resolution was reached less than 10 days ago.
(c) I\\’m trying to give you a fair warning to stock up on pyrotechnic chemicals. I don\\’t care about eggpoints or forums or any shit like that. I\\’ve got better things to do than spend my time babysitting little anarchists on this website. However I thought that perhaps some of you might be interested and upset by this. Plus, who reads the fucking forums? certainly not I.
