Everyone knows how to make napalm from gasoline and polystyrene foam. It’s great stuff, but it gives off a hell of a lot of black, toxic smoke when it burns, which isn’t so fun. What if a version could be made that didn’t do this? What if it could be made even as thick as Jello or as runny as honey? Well, it can.
What you’ll need:
heat source I advise getting an electric skillet from a store or yard sale, but a kitchen electric stove and a pan will work.
Flammable liquid I used Zippo lighter fuel.
Candle gel It’s rather expensive considering what it’s made from and can be purchased at various craft stores. It’s mostly made of mineral oil and a small percentage of the polymer gelling agent.
How to make it:
Cut out some chunks of the candle gel from the container and put it in a metal container. I used a washed out metal food can.
Place container on heat source to melt the gel. Unlike wax, the gel doesn’t actually melt in the conventional sense, but becomes less viscous the warmer it gets. I’m not certain what temperature is required to get the candle get thin enough for what you’ll want, but it "melts" far higher than paraffin candle wax does. I turned my electric skillet up to 300, and sometimes higher, to get it to melt in a reasonable amount of time.
After the gel is liquid, remove from heat source and mix in your choice of flammable hydrocarbon liquid.
Equal parts liquid gel and Zippo fuel gave me, once it cooled down for hours, a clear jiggly solid as thick as a thick batch of Jello. The more liquid you add the thinner it gets.
Jan 08, 2007 3:16 am - you get a 4*** my way is easyer. mix petrol, egg wites, and SUGAR and Flower OR Salt and flower untill its a jell. much easyer. or insted of petroll, use something els.
Jan 08, 2007 3:20 am - Seeing as I keep bees if its runny as honey that means the temperature is igher than 26 C if its cold it would run slow is that what you mean? LOL just joking but I do keep bees!!!! 5*
Jan 08, 2007 12:55 pm - I gave it a two. It would have been a zero, for falling under my "Stupid kids trying to burn shit" category, but this was actually somewhat original.
By the way, that LvL5 vote would be basically negated by my 2 vote.
