I have searched for this on rotteneggs and could find anything about it so if im wrong please let me know.
This was typed by me with some info coming from a website.
So You want vista for free. Here we will show you how
Firstly you will need a couple of things:
* A Broadband Connection 1mb and Above
* Access to the internet
* The Ability to download and install programs
* A DVD burner (and dvd buring program) and a Dvd Disk. (Better to use a Rewriteable)
* And you will need to leave your Pc/Laptop on over a weekend or more
So Firstly we need a program to download vista. The best one we know of is bitcomet . The download link:
Bitcomet Download Link Download this program and install it. Make sure that the program is set for default program in the options.
Now we need the best seeded torrent available to download Vista. Click to download. Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit (x86) Final English DVD Image You can look around on these websites if you would like to find your own one .Make sure you sort them by seeders and you download the one with the most seeders.
Make sure that you are connecting to alot of peers and that your port is set up right.
Now we wait until this finishs.
Also You will need to download this little file and you will need to put it on anything other than the machine vista is going to be installed. We need this for later on.

Open the Iso Image up into your program and go to write it, when it asks you what speed you would like to burn it at select the lowest possible speed it says. This is because when it tries to extract the files in the installation it has a problem.
Now you can burn the dvd.
Once burnt we can now install.
Do a final check on your PC/Laptop to make sure you dont destroy files you need.
Once you have done that your ready to make that leap.
Unplug your Cable that allows you to get on the internet if on wireless disable it when you get into vista.
Reboot your machine with the disk in and go into the bios. This can be normally done by pressing f1 or f2 it will normally say what buttons to press.
Once your in you will need to change the year. Don’t bother changin the date and month. Change the year to 2099.
Also you will need to look for the boot up devices
Once you have found it set it up so the dvd drive comes first and then the hard drive.
Save and Exit out of the bios.
The Machine will restart and will boot into the dvd, it might ask you to hit any key to boot off of the dvd , do so and hit the enter or space key.
The Vista screen will now appear click Install Vista.
Set it up to your spec . Unless stated below
* If asked for a edition to install click on Vista Ultimate
* If asked for a product key , DO NOT put one in and disable automatic updates
* Format the Drive that you will be installing on.
* Do not change the date or time in the vista setup.
Apart from that everything else should be to your requirements
Once your are in vista there are just some final setups that require it to be finalized
Change the date back to the date you are currently in.
(right click on the date and click ajust date/time, then change date and time, It might ask you if you want to carry this out click ok/yes/allow)
We come back to those files you downloaded earlier. Named either crackZIP or crackRAR. To extract crackZIP windows has a built in program for this. To extract crackRAR you will need WinRAR program.
Right click on " vistacrack "application and click run as administrator. click allow if windows asks you.
Then the app will open Hit the " Crack " button
The Computer will start the crack, and reboot.
When vista loads, it will show a warning on the systray, right click on it, and allow
the program to be started, and then hit allow when the warning pops up again.
The crack will then open up and finish the process. Hit finish to close the program.
Crack is now complete!!
Now To double check to make sure it worked, reboot your computer and goto:
1. Start > Run > and type " slmgr.vbs -dlv " without the ""
2. Wait about 30secs for the box to pop up
3. Look at the bottom line, if it says the time remaining is 43200 your set!
If run isnt under start press the windows picture keyboard key and the r button
Do a couple of restarts and type the thing into the run box to make sure it has work.
Last but not least
Make sure you have NO internet connection
Go to Control Panel > Windows updates and then settings
Set it so it checks for new updates but you will download and install updates.
And then thats it. Your Done
You can now put your internet connection on and check for updates.
Dont download any updates with Vista Validation in the name and KB931573 , KB929391

Mar 01, 2007 10:47 am - I’m not saying that he isn’t copy and pasting but just providing a link of exactly what he wrote doesn’t prove anything. Especially if there on it. As far as I’m concerned that person who wrote that one is c/ping. So in the mentality of innocent until proven guilty I give him a 5* (like I said above, providing a raw link with no date doesn’t prove anything. Anyone can make a website and c/p from here.)

Mar 01, 2007 12:02 pm - hmm i know some of you dont like vista , so fair do’s there is no wrong or right answer but i was just providing information for the people that want to out there of how to get it for free, nothing wrong in that is there?. i searched re to find anything about this and couldnt find it. as i had already wrote it up i thought that some people might want to know the information that i wrote. if you would like me to prove thats its my website then be my guest and ask me. yes it is copied of there but only to provide information to re users.
