My fist completely picture egg. It completely relies on the images, so let me know if they don’t work.

Please be patient if the pics take a while to load.

Its not much of an egg actually. A story, discovery, and some testing to confirm the discovery.

Yesterday I was doing my FAFSA (Free app. for federal student aid) and I was going thru the passports and such for the required info on my parents and realized how ugly my signature was on my Social Security Card (SSN). God, it was terrible. I wanted to redo it. but it was in ballpoint and supposedly not erasable.

In just seconds I found out it wasn’t.

I accidentally dropped the card into a dish on my table with denatured alcohol in it and the ball point came right off!

Well, not really. You sorta need to dab it with Kleenex socked in the alcohol to get it completely off.

Heres a pic:

My scanner is really crappy, so its actually more faint in real life, but on the extreme left end of the line faintly is the original signature.

Today, I did a test to see what erases and what doesn’t. I have over a 100 pens, so I suppose I covered them all. They were done on two sheets of normal ink jet paper. and you can see that ballpoint erased the best and the silver marker hardly touched.

Some Notes:
1. will remove the white spot on all bank/debit/credit cards.
2. will not damage the magnetic tape
3. this stuff is quite flammable
4. doesn’t show up of check-printing paper. leaves no traces
5. hurts like hell if it falls in the smallest cut.
6. can damage some plastics
7. dries very quickly.
8. to save my alcohol, I used very little, so normally anything that faded at all would come off eventually. and it does work on pencils, surprisingly.

So, why is this an egg?
Imagine the possibilities. Most people write in ballpoint. They don’t use gell rolls and such. They sign their important documents, legal papers, checks, credit cards with a cheap bic pen.

Armed with this knowledge, you can alter documents, change checks, damage credit cards with this stuff.

If you’re going to try erase the signature of a credit card, use Kleenex too to better remove the white spot they write on, so they can’t re-write their signature.

And now, be warned! If you’re going to sign something, use a good quality pen, no more Bics or ballpoints. Gel point, uni-ball are excellent choices.

oops. forgot to add that if you use too much sometimes the ink of the print might come off. On my ssn card (parts thats blanked out) the first digit of the number got a little smudged.

More Stuff. Denatured Alcohol is great for removing fingerprints and such. It cleans the oil from the print off and leaves the surface like new. That may be useful if you commited a crime and wanted to remove incriminating evidence.
