I am making this egg because, although i have seen some nunchuck eggs before, i haven’t seen a decent one with good explanations and pictures. They all tended to sound like this;
Quote:
ok i am gonna shows you to making a nunchucks first get two woods and putt a holey nail on it and tie string to both and your done nunchucks ready! they will kill anyone with one hit and made by real ninjas promise, first egg rate 5*s kk?

So I made myself a pair and took pictures along the way.
enjoy

Ingredients
*Piece of wood/dowel about 48 cm (19 inches) long, and thick enough for your hand
*Chain (I nicked a few links out of the toilet chain)
*Screw eyes, the screws with rings on the head (I borrowed some from the curtain railings)
*Multi-tool, or anything with a saw and, optionally, a file
*Marker pen (for marking)

(And if you cant see the screw eyes)

all of this is obtainable from your local hardware store, or from around the house.

Instructions

Step 1.)
Take your dowel and pen and mark the halfway point

Step 2.)
Saw the wood on this point

You’ll be left with two shorter pieces, this will be the handles of your nunchucks

Step 3.)
Make a small pilot hole (to guide the screw) with a small sharp point

And Screw in your screw eye

Make sure your do the same for both handles

(I tend to find a drop of super glue works well with this)

Step 4.)
Get about 4 links from your chain

And bend apart the link enough to fit onto the screw eye

Fit it onto the screw eye

And do the same with the other

And bend back into shape

You’ll be left with this

Step 5.) (Optional)
This isn’t necessary but I always do it.
We’re going to paint the nunchucks.
If it was dowel then you might just want to put some wood finish on and leave it, but i paint mine black.
paint one handle

And leave it to dry (it makes it easier to paint the other handle)

Do the same with the other handle

Finished Product

I made two out of a straight bit of branch I left to dry for a while, simply because I didn’t want to buy dowel, or canabillise a broom.
thank you for reading my egg

5 for pics and instructions the only bad this is that you dont know wat you are doing because first off those little screw eyes are very weak and tend to slip throu the wood/material and second are those to wooden sticks uneven because the could really throw off your balance i believe

Yeh I knew it was nunchaku,
but i guessed if people on the site wanted to find the egg, they’d search nunchucks.

Nunchucks sucks... i cant handle the they should be handled, im master in fighting with swords and ordinary wooden sticks and all other exotic weapons except nonchucks...

The problem with those one: Is
1. Your wooden sticks are not realy straight.
2. They are too light, i can see it because of the kind of the wood you have taken, its hazelnut.
Youd better buy some needlewood.

I´ll build them and give them to my birds to play with... but 3* for the good egg

Lol....thats the same way I make mine. I mean the same chain and everything, except I wrapped mine in black electrical tape and used a broom stick. Great minds think alike, 5*.

Aha, yeh
I would have used a broom handle but wasn’t up to canabillising my broom

But the duct tape idea sounds alot faster and easier than painting it..
