How To: Hypnotism - "Overload"
Human Beings have the capacity to conciously attend to about sevon "chunks" of information at one time.
Beyond that number, a person becomes overloaded and starts to make mistakes.
If i had to tell you a sequence of seven numbers you could proberly hold that in conciosness with error, but if i give you a sequence of nine numbers, you will start to make mistakes.
Each number is a "chunk" of information.
Now if i had to devide the nine numbers into three groups of three it would be alot easier to remember as it is only three chunks of information
when you are paying conscious attention to 7 or more chunks of information, anything else will not be processed consciously.
Anything Beyond 7 chunks of information becomes overloading and will be processed unconsiously.
The first time i ever hypnotised some one i used the "Overload" technique so i know it quite well.
Standing infront of the person you are about to hypnotize Say this, it doesnt have to be the exact words:
"OK,would you close your eyes?
Now what i would like you to do is to softly, out loud, begin to count backwards from 200 in 3s.
And as you do that, Im going to put my hands on your shoulders and turn you in circles.
If at any point you discover it is more comfortable for you to simply drop into a nice deep trance, do so with full realization that you are in good hands" -

By doing this, i creat an overload by occupying his visual, audatorial and kinsthetic.
He’s using visualization as a way of helping himself count backwards.
Auditorily he’s saying thr numbers to himself.
And I disorient him kinsthetically by turning him in circles.
He’s now overloaing himself with things to attend to, so i dont have to.
While he is doing this i can pass hypnotic messages which will go right passed his consciousness to his unconscious.
So you might say stuff like, you feel yourself falling into a deep trance, it feels nice and enjoyable.
If He stops counting, I know he’s eether dropped into a deep trance or shaken off the disorientation and has woken up.
If he is in a deep trance, Get right to work, Have fun, fool around, hypnosis is in no way dangerous.
This is a really traditional trance induction by the way.

Apr 08, 2007 12:21 pm - Very interesting. I was tempted to give you a 4 because of your bad spelling, but it was only a few mistakes. And this is well done.
May 05, 2007 7:06 am - Done this a few times at parties. You’re on the money with the sensory/psychological overload and no, people will not subconsciously do things they don’t want to. 5 for letting others know how!
