Introduction
This egg may become useful to Army Cadets or maybe even Army Recruits that don’t yet know how to make their boots shine and be the best in the squadron, so read on to find out how:
Step 1
The first thing you want to do is wipe off any mud etc. off with a damp cloth.
Step 2
Next You Need To Check Inside the flaps where the laces are for any mud thats got itself in there. Just use an old toothbrush to remove any dirt from here.
Step 3
Now that your boot is free from dirt, you need to start ’bulling’ the front of the boot into a shine.
For this you need:
Parade Gloss or Black Boot Polish
A Mug or Bowl of water
Cotton Pads (Not in the picture)
Find the front of the boot (from the tip to where my finger is:)
This is the area you are going to ’bull’. First, get a cotton pad and dab it in the water, now, in a circular motion, wipe the ’bull area’ , including the sides and the front, just until there is a bit of water on the leather.
Now with one finger get a bit of polish and again in a circular motion wipe it onto the water-covered leather ’bull area’. Once covered again wipe some water over the polish in the circular motions until the polish seems to disappear.
Continue this until the leather begins to shine. Keep on repeating this method until you are happy with the shine from the ’bulling.’ When you finish this step make sure there are no water droplets on the now shiny area as this will leave markings on your shiny bulling.
Note: You Can also bull the heel of your boot, depending on the standards/requirements of your company.
Step 4
Now to finish your boot, get one on and off brush (the on brush is the light wood brush, the off brush is the darker wooded brush).
Now take the ON brush and dab it into the polish in the tin. Now swipe the sides of the boot so a small amount of polish is deposited onto the leather. Leave for 5-10 minutes, then in the same swiping motion take the polish off with the OFF brush.
Your Boot Is Now Parade Standard (If You’ve Done It Correctly) |
