Okay. Most of you will probably not know what a vortex is so i will try to explain it.
There are 2 types of vortex blocks. Whole blocks and inline blocks. I will not be teaching you the whole block because they are less quality.
A Vortex block is the main component in a home-made bb machine gun. It is normally house in PVC(2", in this case) and it shoots them out really fast. Here is a diagram of what an inline vortex block gun looks like.
How it works:
BB’s go into the vortex hole, and air is supplied(form a compressor/air tank) through a blowgun or similar trigger, and that m oves the bb’s around the vortex hole, creating a ’vortex’(hence the name) and they propel out the barrel.
You might not understand, but I will teach you how to make one anyway.
Materials
Block of wood that fits into your pipe smoothly
Coke bottle
Barrel
Tools:
Saw
File
Drill
40mm holesaw
Drill bit the same diameter as the OD of your barrel
Hot glue gun and glue(not pictured)
Step One:
Mark out and cut 3" of your wood
Step Two:
You might not be able to see from this picture, but chuck your holesaw into your drill, and drill out a 40mm hole.
HERE IS HOW TO PLACE YOUR HOLE:
One side about 1/4 the way in from the side. and drill it so the pilot bit is 1-2mm in from the bottom edge. This will cut out just over a semi circle.
Clean up all the edges.
Step Three:
Mark out the middle width ways. Do this on the end with the most wood
Step Four:
Draw lines from the top of your vortex hole towards the side you marked. Draw it all around the block(except for the back half)
Step Five:
I am using a 10mm drill bit(my OD of my barrel) so i would mark .5mm down from that line. This is where your going to drill. DRILL A PILOT HOLE FIRST. YOU WILL ONLY BE DRILLING THROUGH ONE SIDE
Step Six:
Cut out some plastic from your coke bottle so it almost covers the hole. Leave room for about 1 and a half bb’s to get through. Glue these on with hot glue.
Your vortex block is done. I have some videos of mine and my friends vortex guns so i will post them here.

It sucks that everyone is rating down a good egg just because:
a)they don’t know what it is
or
b)They want egg points so they hit zero cause they suck.

Hmmm... rus u forgot somethiing, forgot to give me credits i helped :) nah its cool, although it was atmy house, my tools and equipment, my materials, and bes of all it was for my gun :) nah its, i dont come on here that much, i prefer another site. |
