Begginer tricks:
Indy : probably the most basic trick you can do. While you are in the air reach down and grab the toeside of your board with your back hand. Difficulty 1/10
Melon : an easy trick to do, grab with your front hand on the heelside edge of your board. Difficulty 2/10
Mute : another easy trick to do, grab with your front hand on the toeside of your board. This can be given more style by adding in a shifty.Difficul 2/10.
Stalef : slightly harder trick, you grab with your back hand on the heelside edge of your board. This can be given more style by adding in a shifty( Difficulty 3/10
Chicken salad : again slightly harder than a melon, this time you take your front hand and go between your legs and grab the heelside edge of your board. Difficulty 3/10
Roast Beef : This trick is very similar to a chicken salad, both in difficulty and in the technique used. Again you go between your legs and grab the heelside edge of your board but this time you use your back hand. Difficulty 3/10
Nosegra : This trick explains itself really. You just grab the nose of the board. The nosegrab can be used in lots of ways though. Try pulling the front end right up or throwing in a shifty. Difficulty 2/10
Tailgra : Speaks for itsel#*@!ain. You grab the tail of your board. Try pulling up on the tail of the board and boning your front leg. Difficulty 2/10
andy cox, method Intermediate tricks:
Method grab on the heelside of your board with your front hand like a melon but bring your legs up so the board is horizontal in the air.difficulty 4/10
Japan: grab like a mute and then pull tthe board up into a method position.diffic 5/10
FS 180: On take off start rotating in a direction so you can see your landing THE WHOLE TIME. Aim to keep the board underneath you and make sure you keep focused on your landing point so as to ride away cleanly.difficu 4/10
BS 180: On take off start to rotate in a direction so that your back goes the towards your landing point. Look over your shoulder so you can spot your landing and ride off. Much cooler than a FS 180.difficulty 5/10
180 Grab: Do a 180 and add a grab as you get halfway round or towards the end.difficulty 5/10
One footer: Everyone wants to learn one of these. As you take off grab the board or your binding and take your foot out. Before you land put it back into the binding or at least onto the board.diff 6/10
Suitcas As you take off do an action similar to the method but instead of grabbing like a melon reach around the deck and grab the toeside of your board.difficult 5/10
Flying Squirrel: Do the same action as for a method but grab with both hands on the heelside of the board.difficult 5/10
How your board should be in a palm air.Shame about the camera man Pro tricks:
These are advanced, dont try them unless you are really confident.
P air/palmer method: A very stylish trick. As you take off start to do the method action but at the same time include a back side shifty so the deck of the board is facing forward. Grab with your front hand and then bring your legs back down to land it. Immensely good trick.difficult 7.5/10
BS 360: a great trick when done smoothly. Before you take off pre wind in the opposite direction to the one wish to spin in. AS you reach the lip your body should be facing back down the ramp. Jump at the top and start to rotate, because of the prewind the first 180 will pass very quickly and then you can spot your landing easily as the last 180 is frontside.diffi 6/10
FS 360: A great trick when done smoothly. Before you take off pre wind in the opposite direction to the one you want to spin in.AS you take off the top half of your body should be rotated 180 degrees the way you want to go. Jump and start to rotate in that direction. Keep looking over your shoulder to insure the rotation continues in that direction and so you can spot your landing and ride away.difficulty 7/10
A flip: Insane. Dont even think about doing it untill you are ready for it.Stacking whilst inverted is LIFE THREATENING.I have never attempted one so we do not accept any responsibility for injury whilst following our instructions.di 9/10
Back flip: As you take off start to rotate backwards leading the movement with your back hand as you take off jump and really flip hard backwards. When you are upside down keep your head looking at where you are landing so your legs and rest of your body folow your head and get you round safely.
Fron Flip: As you take off start to rotate forwards leading with your front hand. You cant see as much of your landing as with a backflip but keep your head looking as close to the landing area as possible to insure the full rotation. |
