this egg is for those who want to stop but don’t know where to start,and for those that are in the process of stopping.
First thing is knowing why you started.my personal opinion is that there are two reasons.1) bec. of peer presure.not that your friend made you smoke just that you wanted to hang out with him.2) bec of psychological manipulation,for example you watch a movie and the hero is always smoking at times of stress,this subconciosly tells you that smoking eases stress.
Second thing is knowing why you smoke now.there are a number of excuses and ill list a couple: boredom, stressed out, nervous, keep your fingers busy,and so on.but in realty noone of those are true its not because of boredom bec.then why do you read or chat with somone at the me time.its not bec.you’re stressed out bec.afterwards you’re still stressed out.its not to keep your fingers busy bec. Then why light it? Its not for the taste bec.if you dont have your brand you’ll still smoke it.
so why do you smoke? 2 reasons: 1)bec.you’re adicted. 2)bec youre brainwashed. Adidiction is a physical sickness that your body needs the nicotine. Brainwashed is that your conviced that you need the cigarette.
How to stop.
You need to understand and fully believe everything i just said.and you must be ready and want to stop (until then smoke regulations). When you want to stop take one last cigarette and tell yourself that this will be your last.
It sounds hard but the physical addiction is over in 3 days and the psychological adidiction is over in around 3 weeks.

urh you get a 3. cause its your first egg. but since your egg is on how to stop smoking, you should have elaborated more. you wrote like an essay, and 3forth of is was on why you smoke and why you started.

it isn’t
ever
the willpower to quit is immense
especially if you live in a smoke common environment
if you have started and successfully quit
you wouldn’t write so little

if you wanna quit smoking you`re gonna have to not be around ur friends who smoke while they smoke. u can hang out with them (unless all they do is smoke and they talk about it)
find sumting else to put between your fingers if thts y u smoke.
dont try to quit smoking with others who are (cuz if they cheat ur likey to as well).
and everytime ur goin to a store tht u usaully buy the cigs, have a friend tht doesnt smoke go with u and keep ur wallet until u leave so u dont buy them.
pretty much my egg was gonna be about tht

Apr 29, 2007 10:12 am - it wouldnt b hard 4 me 2 quit cuz i like cigars better, they have more flavor and they last longer. but lately I havnt been as much, maybe 1 or 2 a month.

If you have the smallest shred of will power and self control you can just give it up.

May 02, 2007 12:09 pm - yeah i also dont believe in addictions. i smoked for almost 3 years and its been 7 months since the last time i smoked and i havent touched a cigarette since. i just stopped cold-turkey. Chewing gum is what helped me out...Its all about willpower and i would say the majority of the struggle is mental. well...5 for a stop-smoking egg! good luck eh?
