i don’t know if it works for any other program than windowsxp, but it is a doozy for someone who has a computer and doesn’t know too much about it.
if you get access to it, turn it completely off, then turn it on again, and as SOON as the FIRST screen comes up, hit the F2 key.
you may have to try this more than once. i actually had to do this four times on my own computer.
there will be a hard drive screen that comes up.
follow the directions for putting a password up on this stage of the boot.
i think it is the second choice across the top of the page, by the way, the screen is the bios screen, check on security.
highlight supervisor password.
press enter and follow the instructions.
use whatever screwed up password you can think of, i would just type like a bastard for 2 seconds, and then set.
the person owning the computer can’t open their computer past this point after this.
now, they can call windows support, but they have to go through a bunch to open their computer again.
i actually have a password on mine so my kids can’t use it without asking, and for this reason.
i leave my turned off when not in use for this reason, too.
it is really easy to do, may be easy to fix, but it requires actual effort to redo.
have fun.
by the way, if anyone knows how to reset this, i would like to know, as i am not a hacker, i am just the average joe, but most of us are.
remember, the key is to turn the computer off before opening again.
this makes it impossible for the computer to boot, at all, before the password is set.
i don’t know how it works on standby, i bet it doesn’t, and i am not going to pretend i know.
don’t you all hate when you read something that is obvious the person never tried?
i hate that.

god damn dumbass. thats just a fucking BIOS.
its sad you fuckers dont know dick about computers.
to unlock this, simply open your computer and take out the flat battery on your motherboard.
that will reset the bios.
damn! you all suck

um if there is no "batterey" on the motherboard, then clear the CMOS using the CMOS jumper. change it from 1-2 to 2-3 for 15 seconds, don’t forget to change it back. then you have to reconfigure the BIOS and then restart your comp. oh yeah the "flat batterey" is called a button cell and it’s not a battery unless it’s connected in series. CMOS jumper settings:
|1 2| 3 CMOS when uncleared
1 |2 3| CMOS when cleared (15 secs)
| | indicate jumper
1-2-3 indicate jumper pins
