I’ve jumped off many bridges in my day (into water you idiot), so I will give you a guide to how to do it without killing yourself.
- You should always go bridge jumping with at least 2 other people. If someone gets hurt, one should help them one should call 911. Its fun with more people anyway.
- Check the water very good before jumping into it. Dive as deep as you can from the shore. If you can dive and touch the bottom, its not deep enough, better safe then sorry.
- Make sure there is no rocks sticking out of the water. Make about a 10 foot circle that your going to be jumping into, check the depth and if theres any obsticals.
- Make sure you can get out of the water, and you dont have to swim a mile to get to a place to exit the water. I learned the hard way.
- Before you jump, make sure no boats of within 100 yards of you. The wake from these boats can slam you into the piers, or wash you up onto the rocks, hard.
- When you jump, cross your arms over your chest. I suggest wearing shoes. Never flip or dive facefirst. Thats just asking for it.
There are many bridges near my house, some as tall as 50 feet. Its very fun but can be very dangerous if you dont know what your doing.
Jun 06, 2007 1:26 pm - sounds like good advice. i gotta say i prefer jumping from bridges more in the 30 feet range, but this is good advice in any case. still, this should be more in a forum or something.
