Almost everybody experiences acne sometime in their life. This is a guide to help get rid of and prevent acne. I hope it helps. (Sorry about the image sizes, I have no clue how to change them).
Diet- What you eat/drink has no effect on your acne, except for milk. There are studies that prove it (i also know a kid who drinks a gallon a day and his face is covered in acne). Also, drinking a lot of water helps detoxify the body, leading to clearer skin.
Shave- Most of the time, shaving helps prevent acne because it removes greasy hair from your face. Even if the hair isn’t noticeable (peach fuzz), it should be cut. This is also true with your head of hair. Cutting this shorter or keeping it out of your face should improve acne. When cutting facial hair, wash before and use aftershave or some other alcohol astringent afterward to prevent ingrown hairs.
So for all of you Ron Jeremy lookalikes, shave that stache!
Issa me a Jeremy
Washing Face- When washing face, always exfoliate (scrubbing with washcloth or a cleanser with grains). As you may know, washing with products that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid help with acne but most of the time they cost a lot. Easy alternatives for this are:
-Head and Shoulders (The H&S shampoo, without the 2 in 1 with conditioner, works great as a cleanser. It may sound weird but it works great. Just put it on your face with a washcloth and let it sit for about 2 minutes. Rinse it off and your good. It may feel funny afterwards like your skin is tight. This is easiest to do in the shower... and it helps with dandruff too :D)
-Baking Soda (as seen in Infectious-MD’s egg> http://rotteneggs.com/r3/show/se/194496.html)
Sleeping- Replace your pillowcase often because it can get nasty and spending about 5-10 hours a night on a dirty pillowcase causes bad acne. When going to sleep, you should apply a cream to existing pimples/blemishes. This will help them dry out over night so they look better in the morning.
These "overnight creams" are
-10% Benzoyl Peroxide cream (This is found at many pharmacies for pretty cheap; $3 for a small tube, and it is made by many different brands. Just check to make sure it is 10% Benzoyl Peroxide)
-Toothpaste (This is a good product for this because it dries out the pimples. Just try to use the toothpaste that comes in the tube, not that gel stuff for the best effect)

Jul 06, 2007 11:05 pm - Want to prevent and get rid of acne? Two simple things: eat alot of fruit, and use toothpaste on your acne. If not toothpaste, some other substance that will dry out the skin.
