This really happened. A guy got some cannabis seeds. He sprouted them in seedling beds, planted the sprouts in the yard, watered the plants all summer, and his marijuana was just about ready to harvest.
The phone rang one day. The caller said he was a narcotics officer, and knew what the guy was up to. He continued that the guy was committing a felony, and could be in prison for years for growing marijuana. However, if the guy digs up his wacky weed and brings it to the police station by the end of the day, there would be no criminal charges, as its important to keep the dope from being sold on the street.
The guy sighed, having worked all summer on his plants, and being so proud of his accomplishment. However, the threat of prison time got the better of him. Reluctantly, he dug up all the plants, placed them in a large plastic bag, put them in the trunk of his car, and drove to the police station.
He carried the bag into the station, placed it on the desk, and said, "Heres the stuff."
The cops looked at him, looked at each other, looked at him again, and slapped on the cuffs! It turns out the phone call was a hoax.
