Hi. In this guide, you’ll learn how to penspin, the sacred art of the slacker. You’ll also learn how to make your own pen mod.
I saw nothing on Rotteneggs about penspinning, so I figured, what the heck.
And I know this doesn’t seem especially like a prank, but, it’s cool, and it annoys teachers. Hooray.
Anyway, there are six main tricks that I know, and in this guide, you’ll learn to do them.
There’s the:
Thumbaround
Charge
Reverse Thumbaround
Thumbaround Combo
Fingerpass
Thumbspin
Let’s get started.
First off, you need a good spinning device. Hey, it’s not too practical if you want to write something, but it looks kinda cool.

And there you have it. ONTO THE THUMBAROUND. The Thumbaround is basically just applied pressure until your middle finger slips under the pencil. The pencil makes a complete rotation around your thumb.

Now, the Charge. Basically, the Charge just looks like the pen is spinning really fast. It kinda just moves around and around in between your fingers.

Now, the Reverse Thumbaround. If you can’t figure out for the life of you what the HELL this trick could possibly be, please get run over by a cement mixer. Anyway, less pressure is needed in this trick. However, there’s more pushing, and you’ll need to curve your index finger when hitting the pencil.

Next is the Thumbaround Combo. This basically combines the regular and Reverse Thumbarounds.

Next up is the Fingerpass. It sounds exactly like it is. The pencil passes through your fingers continually. It’s fast and it’s slick.

That’s the Fingerpass. Keep repeating that and it looks like the video. Sorry for the missing picture there.
Now, the last trick. It’s called the Thumbspin. Basically, it’s the same thing as a regular Thumbaround, except you bend your thumb-knuckle down, instead of sticking your thumb straight up. This makes the pen spin around many more times on your knuckle. When you want to end the spinning, just try sticking your thumb up and catching it as if it were a regular Thumbaround, or shift your entire arm so that you kinda "catch" it.

Most people would rate this low because, honestly, why would we want to spin a pencil?
