How to: make a mini star mine!
In this egg I am going to teach you how to make a mini star mine. They are very fun and easy to make. And if you make it right they will go VERY high!
Materials
-hot glue gun
-a few stars
-fast burning lift powder (ballmilled and granulated bp)
-thin 1/16 fuse
-kraft paper (or a paper grocery bag)
-white glue
-a napkin
-a pencil
-scissors
-a drill or something you can make a hole with the size of your fuse
Lets get started!
First cut a strip of kraft paper, a few inches tall and wide, doesnt need to be TOO wide
Start to roll it around the pencil
Now leave an inch or two left of paper
spread some glue on it
now have it rolled, cut off any telescoped ends
Put it in the oven for about 150 degrees and wait like 10 minutes
now rip a piece of napkin, about this big
Now ball it up and push it in the tube
ram it with the pencil and push it out, it should look like a plug
rip another piece
ball it up and ram it, it should look like this
push it in a little (so you can put hot glue in it)
fill the gap with hot glue
now this is the hard part.
what your gunna do is put the pencil all the way in, so it touches the napkin paper, now mark the pencil, and this is really hard to exlpain, but what you’re trying to do is see where the napkin is, so you can put your fuse in there, so it’s right about the rammed napkin in the tube.
now make a hole for the fuse, and put it in (right above the napkin)
pour about .50 or even less of lift powder in the tube
put in your stars, then pour in a TINY bit of meal powder (just to make sure they ignite)
put in that rammed napkin (the one you took out) and push it in until it reaches the stars.
how to use
Hot glue it on a board or the street, and light it, it should send the stars flying into the air. It will look very beautiful and pretty. (not to sound gay).

Oct 10, 2007 2:28 pm - More like a star gun, but i used to experiment a lot with these things, VERY fun, i find D1 is the best to use. Orange stars worked for me, but i never had the BP al thing work well at all for me.
