Obesity statistics paint an alarming picture - and one that\\’s getting worse. In the UK around 43% of men and 33% of women are overweight, and a further 22% of men and 23% of women fall into the obese category.(This means that over half of the population is overweight!) And although the percentage of overweight and obese people is increasing all over the world, the rate is especially high in the United Kingdom - the percentage of the population which is overweight has increased by 50% in the last 10 years. (BHF)
As people get older, the tendency to become overweight increases and amongst the British population in the age group 64-75 the percentage is staggering - 77% of men and 71% of women!
In the US, obesity statistics make even worse reading, with two thirds of the population being overweight and almost one third of Americans being obese.
Children are not immune and the increased number of overweight kids in the developed world is a worrying trend because overweight obese children are more likely to become fat adults than are their thinner companions.
To appreciate the significance of these numbers, we must look at the implications of being overweight.
Around 300,000 adults die each year in United States as a result of unhealthy eating habits (WIN) and lack of exercise. In the UK an estimated 1 in 11 deaths is attributed to excess weight. (Daily Mail)
Are you a couch potato?
Think its too costly to be a member of a gym?
Dont listen to those people who say gyms are the answer, just try the new Danny Balbini workout plan!
You\\’ll see results in days...and im not kidding...
The Danny Balbini Workout.
Its one of the easyest workouts there is, and its designed to be fun! All you have to do is find the nearest playground to you, and play!
1. Its totaly free.
2. Its actualy designed to make you smile.
Scientific studies, conducted be the Danny Balbini Institute of Improvisation, combined this fun pastime with an adult use for the playground equiptment. The experimenents showed that half an hour in the playground burns more calories than half an hour in the gym. The fresh air and combined with the constant moving of the body works the body harder, burning 40 more calories.
Ill list the substitutions:
1. Weights/Pull-Ups
Try the monkey bars instead. Instead of straining your arms and risking tearing ligements, why dont you give the monkey bars a quick bash?It will also heighten your upper body streingth significantly.
2.Sit-Ups/Crunches
If your to fat to get back up after lying down, try jumping on a swing. This also works your leg muscles to some extent.
3.Squats
I dont know about America, but in Britain we have see-saws (teeter-totters) that you can stand on. You use you\\’r legs to move up and down, and your arms to pull yourself towards the middle, to keep your balance. Use these a number of times, and they become equivelent to the work out you get from the same amount of squats.
4.Assault Course
This is an added workout that works the legs, arms and back, and also does something the gym can not...hand eye co-ordination.
Obveusly fat people have great hand eye co-ordination, due to all of the food they manage to get into there mouth.
Obveusly this is a workout to recommend because kids can also do it.
So go on, reduce the child obecity, and lose a few pounds yourself, try the Danny Balbini Playground Workout.
