Hello RottenEggs,
On the 6th of October me and fellow RottenEggs member J0hnnysick0 (Jordan) went Urban Exploring, we explored an abandoned house located in Clifton Hill of Victoria.
The house was very run down, and had a lot of mould on it. We figured the house wasn’t exactly stable, and could collapse any minute considering the state it was in, regardless, we entered.
Well, when I was on the train I was looking outside of my window, because of boredom. I saw this place and thought to myself “This would be a good place to UE, and possibly post on RottenEggs”. I haven’t posted an egg in a while, so I figured this would be a good opportunity to post one. So I informed Jordan about this, and he tagged along.
It was a huge struggle to get to this house, we had no actual idea where it was located, all we knew was it was somewhere between two stations. So, we got off at Clifton Hill station the closest station to the house, and began our search.
We couldn’t walk in a straight line towards the house because the train tracks curved. We also decided it wasn’t a good idea to walk along the tracks, in case a train came. So we walked around.
First off we walked threw a reserve, and came to a fence. We looked at the fence, and tried to figure out how to get threw it. Jordan found a hole in the fence, so we went threw. We walked down a man made path to find ourselves at a river. We walked up and down the river and looked for a bridge across. We didn’t find one, so we figured out how to get across. We thought the most possible way to get across would be to jump from rock to rock. So, we did.
Jordan led the way and I followed, we came to one stage, where we didn’t know what to do, so Jordan moved some rocks, to form his own little path. After a couple of minutes of hesitation, I made the final jump and landed on the other side of the river.
Here is a picture of the train tracks that are over the river.
Once we walked for a minute, we located the house, with mass amounts of wire around it to keep hoons out. Jordan suggested that we find a way in; I suggested we find a place to take a shit, as I needed to go, and nearly shit myself. So, we found a McDonalds and went upstairs to find the bathroom. The bathroom was the most horrible one I’ve ever seen in my life. The toilet door had no lock, and was only covering my genitals and upper chest. If I stood behind the door you’d be able to see my legs and shoulders up. So, after 10 minutes of taking a shit, I made a mockery of the toilet and we left. Before we left I grabbed a cheeseburger, yum.
Moving on. . . We went back to the house, and found an entry. All we had to do was move back the fence, and hop over. The entry looked like this.
Once we walked in and inspected the area, I found some chairs and said to Jordan; “Lol, let’s take pictures of the chairs like Clegg!” Not as good photography as Clegg, but hell, they’re chairs.
Here is the front view of the house. From what you can see, you would think it’s a single story house, but it’s a double story house. It doesn’t have two floors though; it was built on a slant, so the back half of the house has an underground compartment, which you’ll see pictures of later on.
We heard a train noise, so I turned around and thought that it’ll be a good idea to take a picture of our Victorian Connex trains. This one is going over the bridge, as you can clearly see.
We tried to get in threw the front door but it was deadlocked, obviously someone, most likely the Government put a new door to keep clowns out, obviously, it didn’t stop us. We went around the back.
Here is a picture of the left window of the house.
We found a large pile of rubbish located on the front porch, here it is.
Going around the back way, I took a picture of the side of the house. It’s very old.
This little hole is how we figured we would be able to get underneath the house, although we didn’t go underneath until later on in this egg.
I thought it’d be cool to take a picture of our shadows; I’m the one with the camera.
I’d call this the best picture I took in my egg. It’s the rear view of the house.
This is where it got creepy; we got to this run down shack/shelter located in the back yard. It had a lot of creeks, and bangs, making us jump.
Just a chair some hooligan knocked over.
Here is the inside of the shack/shelter.
Here’s the right wall of the shack/shelter.
Here’s Jordan and I; posing in the mirror. LOL @ posers.
Gah, here is some medicine. Jordan looked into what these are for, but I’ve forgotten! I’m sure he’ll post what they’re in the comments of this egg.
As we left the scary shack, we saw a way to get into the house, up the stairs. Also, you can see the toilet and the access to underground in this photo.
Just a picture of car doors we spotted.
Basically the staircase we had to walk up. Was it safe? No.
Here are the trains, again.
What we can see here is a sneak peek of underneath the house. I thought it’d be best if we didn’t go under until exploring the house, so that’s what we did.
Here’s just a shot of underneath the steps.
As I walked to the side of the house, I saw a gap in the house.
I couldn’t get a clear picture of this side of the house, because if I walked anymore back I’d be up in head high grass with snakes.
As you can see; Jordan did some “hacks” and unlocked the door.
Before we entered inside, Jordan pulled out a pocket knife, and lent me a screw driver. Just in case someone was inside we could have protection, you know, from hobos, and such.
As you can see, here is a load of crap piled up on the floor.
As I looked to my left, I found a toilet.
As I looked further into the house, I found a bath.
Jordan led the way and inspected the kitchen.
Jordan screamed something along the lines of; “Omfg, someone is living here. Check out the candles and cigarettes”
Here’s the not – so active fireplace.
I’m sorry about the blurry picture, I had to use zoom and couldn’t focus it. BUT, it’s obvious someone lives here.
We didn’t go threw these doors, we walked around
As we walked around the house, we came to a door, Jordan peeked threw it and stoped in his tracks. If we took one step on this caved in floor, we could possibly fall to our deaths.
This is the floor we had to walk over, not as safe as it was old.
We weren’t walking on higher ground now, because we reached the front of the house. As you can see, it’s the front door from the inside. You see Government; this door doesn’t prevent people coming inside it!
This is nothing to interesting; it’s just a room in the front of the house.
It’s a surprise to see a room inside actually has carport. I’d assume if a homeless person lived here, they would sleep in this room.
This is possibly a breast cup.
This house had a lot of fire places, here’s another one of them.
At this stage Jordan suggested I stick my camera lens inside the hole in the front door to take a picture. So as you can see, I did. To be honest it looks pretty good.
The roofs aren’t in great state.
As we left the house to explore outside, I took a picture. That’s Jordan, he’s got cookies.
Here’s a rack, underneath the house. We spotted more of the medicine I had a picture of Jordan holding earlier in this egg. It was placed on the rack.
Here they are!
The floor.
To be honest, I wasn’t keen on going underneath the house. I figured it’d be boring and risky. But, I had a change of heart and let Jordan take me inside.
We found an old pile of junk. It had some good stuff in the pile. In the next few pictures I’ll be showing you some of the junk we found in the pile, we didn’t keep it though.
Jordan found an old car radio. If you didn’t know; Radio’s are used to pump tunes.
Here’s a picture of the inside of a barrel! Possible the most exciting picture of this egg!
Hey Jordan, put this helmet on your head.
This is how it went down; “Jordan! Oh no, you didn’t!” “Stay back dude, I can has pocket knife”
As you can see, Jordan’s a trusty worker.
Here’s a picture of wood.
As we exit the underground.
Here’s the backyard.
This is just some random candle Jordan picked up before I decide to call it an egg.
Walking off as we left this place, I thought I’d take a picture from the distant.
We then went to the train station and went our separate ways.
Oct 15, 2007 5:10 am - I wonder why there would be Dental Anesthetic inside there :S
Maybe some junkie popping those pills :),
Very nice egg 5*, its maybe even more interesting then the homeless heroin hangout, Also Connex trains suck!, I had my feet up on the seat across me, and a cop came in and told me to take my feet of or he will give me a $160 fine, faggot.
Also if you ever go back and do a part 2 :), you should check the expiration date of the wine bottle in pic 34/35 and it could give you a idea of when someone was last there.
Oct 15, 2007 5:25 am - Fuck now RE have seen me, tis a shit photo too.
The medicine was CITANEST 3% aka a dental anesthetic.
I was pondering going back and grabbing the rest to sell.
This house had a creepy vibe that’s why we took the shitty knife.
The bottles were fairly new, i could still smell the alcohol on them.
Oct 15, 2007 9:17 am - hahahah that jordan looks like a total fucking faggot dude. jk. but dude seriously wtf were you doing in my house? im so glad you didnt think to take that board before the hallway with the caved in floor to get across, thats wher ei keep my stash. and i do sleep in the carpeted room. and if i find that you took anything i will cut you both.
