Believe it or not, there are certain tires on the market that squeal easier and louder than others. If you are looking for tires that squeal loud than youre here at the right place. Some people like their acceleration to be more stealthy so if you are looking for a place to learn about the most silent tires than youre also at the right place.

For the first year of owning my jetta, i was always dissappointed that i couldnt get the tires to squeal. I knew that it wasnt a performance issue, it was a traction issue. I tried swapping my rear tires onto my front and still got nothing. My friend’s car could squeal tires with just the slightest bit of wheel slip. With my car, i would just get a big whoosh noise even if i was sitting still slipping my tires in 2nd gear. So i went on a quest to find the LOUDEST tires for the most fun. I took girls for rides in my car and they were like "your car accelerates pretty quick even though it doesnt squeal tires" so i was like "uhh yeah, it does squeal tires, you just cant hear it".

What i found out first was that Tire Squeal isnt always assosciated with lack of traction or lack of power. Certain tires wont let go of the road and sometimes the ones that do, wont make a chirp. Although im sure that getting tires with softer rubber would help in getting better traction and reducing wheelspin, it doesnt seem to have much to do with tire squeal.

So my stock tires were just some low profile Cobra tires that were on the budget side of performance. They looked sporty but didnt look super expensive. These tires could break traction easily but were very difficult to get a good squeal out of them. I held my E-brake up and did a burnout up through 2nd gear and i just barely got a chirp at 6800 rpm. These tires arent that good for performance and dont scare the shit out of anyone if you want attention.

The next tires that i tried were made by a name brand in performance TOYO. these tires had great traction and dispersal of water but werent great in the snow. They didnt have any hard edges that ran perpindicular to the pavement when doing a burnout. When i was able to break the tires loose, i still didnt get a squeal because the tires just slid across the pavement on the tops of their tread. I suppose the extra weight on certain points gave these tires a forward/backward traction advantage but sucked in side to side.

So finally i got some free tires from a co-worker. He said that they are unique because they do not look like standard performance tires but they are actually H-rated (high speeds), all season tires meant for hard cornering and extreme acceleration. These tires had unbelievable traction but i could still easily break them loose from the pavement. The tread was cut into Squares that were divided into diamonds and triangles that dispersed water out the sides and diagnally back. They had extremely hard edges and a wide track so they held less weight on each square inch of the tire. But when the driver really just dumped the clutch, the hard corners of the squares and diamonds would run perpendicular to the direction that the wheels were spinning. This creates friction and sound easier. These tires squealed alot like slicks do. They not only squeal extremely loudly, but they squeal on all pavement (not just freshly paved roads). They are Futura GLS’s.
These are harder to come by today but im pretty sure you can order them anywhere. They are extremely durable tires that can be put on a SUV, TRUCK, SEDAN, COUPE or anything because they can withstand a high weightload.

The key to finding tires that squeal easily is finding ones that are meant to withstand high weightloads and ones that disperse water EXTREMELY WELL. These kinds of tires will be made out of harder rubber but not necessarily less grippy rubber. They are stiffer all together and will chirp between gears easier.

i know this isnt my most informative egg or best egg but it helps people who want more or less squeal and more or less traction. I do everything i can to wreak as much havok in my own town as possible so when an intake, exhaust and speaker system arent enough, you must upgrade the tires.

with my car, the object isnt to see how long i can squeal my tires. I can squeal them for miles. IT is to see how long i can squeal them from a fast rolling start. I can squeal my tires hopping from 2nd to 3rd gear at 50 mph. The squeal lasts for about 2 seconds and lays down about 150 feet of rubber.
