Ok guys this is my second post and a revision to my last egg about smokescreening your calls (for u.s. residents) this website/tool is very useful for scams where you don’t want to give out your number and peto-baiting etc. i have better pictures and more in depth details check it out!
1. go to numbr.com (this is a totally free site)
the homepage should look like this!
2. Than what you want to do is click the "get your free numbr" option and it will take you to this screen
3.on this screen at the top it gives you your "Numbr" that will soon smokescreen your calls to everyone!
now you can choose weather to use this number for one hour one week one month etc..
on your number you can also select a area code from your city so it looks more like a realistic number
now what you do is enter your ten digit U.S. phone number that you want the calls to get re-routed to!
4. now click the "I AGREE" terms and condition box
now click the submit button and it will take you to your final page needed to start smokescreening your calls!
it should look like this
once your here your practically done. just save or write down your number
now you can personalize greeting and options for your number!
also for a personalized widget for myspace, facebook etc. just copy and paste their html code from the two options on the third page!
i found this very useful and one of the few cool thigns that are still free in this world today!
Nov 15, 2007 7:57 pm - if i make a phone call from my phone # (the # that i enter onto the site), will the made up # appear on the receiver’s caller ID even though im calling from my own phone #?
Nov 15, 2007 9:31 pm - it still doesnt work. i tried calling my house from my cell phone and my home caller id still read my cell phone # instead of the generated number (my cell phone is the # the calls are routed too)
