A Free Alternative To Guitar Hero
*Note* A lot of you might be thinking: "Why not just play Frets On Fire?" Flash Hero can run on older computers, FlashHero requires 684kb of hard drive Space, FlashHero comes with more than 2 songs, FlashHero has 6 fret buttons instead of 5, etc. I have played both, and FlashHero (Properly Tweaked) can be very fun!
Part 1: Where To Start
First things first, Download Firefox! FireFox is the best, and to fully tweak FlashHero you will need it.
Part 2: Download The Addons
To make the gaming experience fully enjoyable download the following addons for FireFox:
After these two addons are installed, restart FireFox, and continue to part 3.
Part 3: Downloading The Game
Navigate to http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/386989 and click Play this Game! a window should appear showing the game. If you look at the bottom right hand corner of FireFox, you should notice a red upside down arrow has appeared. Click the arrow, then click view embedded items. A new window should pop up, and inside that window there should be 2 links. Click the one that says http://uploads.ungrounded.net/386000/386989_FlashHeroRelease.swf and then press the Download button. Save this file to your desktop, or somewhere that it will be easily accessible.
Find this file on your computer (Should be named 386989_FlashHeroRelease) Right click this file, click the Properties button, and set it to open with FireFox.
Part 4: Tweaking FireFox
Double click the FlashHero game, it should open in FireFox and the game should load. Open a new tab and right click somewhere on the screen. Click Toggle Fullscreen. The screen should change, and you should now only see the two tabs at the top. Click on the FlashHero tab and then right click the other open tab, and close it. You should now have a completely full screen FireFox.
Part 5: Tweaking FlashHero
Go into the settings of FlashHero, and click on Controls. To have the best controls set the buttons as follows:
Fret 1: F1
Fret 2: F2
Fret 3: F3
Fret 4: F4
Fret 5: F5
Fret 6: F6
Strum: Enter Key
Part 6: Playing The Game
To play the game properly, flip your keyboard upside down. Like guitar hero, you use your left hand to hit the fret buttons (F1,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6) and your right hand strums (Enter Key)
