This is my first egg, so hopefully it will be somewhat good. If you have trouble figuring it out, just ask me and I can help.
This scam does work by the way. Within a month of trying on 15 different houses, I made $50. (Math= $5 per house. 10 houses = $50. 10 out of 15 houses were scammed.)
Fake Lottery Scam - Mailbox Version
*NOTE* DO NOT DO THIS ANYMORE THAN 1 WEEK AT THE SAME GENERAL LOCATION. IF SOMEONE IS SUSPICIOUS, THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES MAY SETUP HOTSPOTS. *NOTE*
You will need the following: 2 Formal business style envelopes and letters (Use a local name and their symbols if possible, it helps with people and their recognition of safe, local businesses that deal with this sort of thing), their mailing address or a fake one, & lot’s of $1.00 bills.
-----------------
The first envelope should say something similar to the following: Dear Sir or Madam,
[Talk about what the company does.] Make this at least 4 sentences long.
[Talk about what you are doing as of now. The reason why they are receiving this letter. And make sure that you inform them that the lottery works as follows: You can enter the drawing by giving $6.00 to the "pot" (Don’t use quotations, I just used them to make sure you know what I’m talking about). They will then be informed if they have won or not after 3 months or 90 days. They should then mail their ticket at the bottom with the following info filled out and their $6.00 to the address on the top of the letter by no later than 12:00am (midnight) to make sure that the letter will be sent the next day and so that they can get a fair chance at the lottery.] Make this at least 6-7 sentences long and make sure you include what I told you.
[Tell them they will receive a consolation prize just for entering the "pot". Thank them for their patience and sign with a fake name that sounds correct for where you live.]
[Tell them at the very bottom that they can discard the rest of the letter after they clip off their ticket (just make an area on the bottom they can clip off with scissors that has an area for their name and phone number. Also place a fake number on it such as Ticket#: GH3001) Try to make it look like this but as formal as possible:]
Ticket#: [w/e you choose]
Name:_______________
Phone Number:________________
------------------
The second envelope should contain the following message: Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your time entering the [w/e name you chose for your business] Lottery! We appreciate your efforts, and as mentioned, you will be receiving a consolation prize.
Good luck,
[fake name different from name used in first letter]

The scam goes as follows:
1. Scope out a house that would be suitable for you to be able to watch from a distance and not look suspicious, such as a parking lot. Also that everyone around this house goes to sleep or isn’t at home at the same time the scam will go down.
2. Watch the location for at least 2 nights, just to see when people leave and stay. This way you can make modifications to the times I’m about to give you later.
3. Wait until around 2:00am-3:00am (or whenever you noticed the best time to do it and begin to drive by their mailbox and then either you or a friend will place the first envelope inside.
4. You can now go do w/e you feel like until the next day. Sleep would probably be best.
5. *This is now the next day* They should now have had enough time to read the message. They will see that they must place the "ticket" inside their mailbox no later than 12:00am (midnight) so that they can be assured it will be delivered the next day. All you have to do now is drive back by that house around 1:00am or so, if the flag is up, wait until you have a grand opportunity to grab their envelope with the "ticket" and money inside and drive off as if nothing just happened, if their flag is not raised, then oh well, try again at another house if you like.
6. Now that you have their $6.00 and their ticket, you can do w/e you want with the ticket, and congrats, you just made $6.00. But hold up, I bet your wondering why I asked you to bring all the $1.00’s.
7. The reason for the $1.00’s is as follows: Wait a few days after you retrieve their envelope with their supposed "pot entry", then bring another envelope with their "consolation prize" (the $1.00) and a small, brief letter explaining this is their consolation prize and that they will receive notice in the mail in a few months if they have won.

Congrats, hopefully this wasn’t too hard to understand. It’s actually not as complicated as it looks...I’m just bad a trying to explain things in words rather than speech lol.
