A lot of people have heard about the "TV-B-Gone", its a universal remote keychain. This thing only works like the power button on your remote (off/on), but works on almost all TVs! This idea is mine, I didn’t steal it from anyone, it is all original. Here’s what you need:
-1 x TV-B-Gone Remote ($20), you can get one at www.amazon.com, www.tvbgone.com
-1 x Altoids Mints Case (free, can be empty, or you could go buy one for around $1 and enjoy some mints)
-Tape - if you need a picture of this, you’re fuckin retarded
-Adhesive Rubber bubble thing, available at hardware stores, or anything similar
(i don’t know what they’re called, this is just a roll of them in a drawer)
-Screwdriver/Something hard w/ similar shape
-foam "donought" (found on top of blank CDs), or anything of similar size
Alright, now on to making it.
-First, use your screwdriver to make a hole in the front of it, towards the middle of the side as shown.
-Put the foam ring on the bottom of the Altoids tin, close to the middle of it.
-Next, put your rubber adhesive thing in the middle of your hole and the foam ring.
-now, place your TV-B-Gone upside down into the altoids tin, make sure the little IR thing is at the hole
-apply the tape to the tv-b-gone and foam ring thing.
-Close the case, and you’re done!
Now, if you have followed the instructions, all it takes to activate the remote is a small pressure, push. I went a whole marking period with it on my desk, just gently pushing down with my palm to turn on the TV. If you just leave your hand on it, the teachers will never know you’re doing it. I’ve gone to Best Buy with it, turned on Jerry Springer in Chemistry, you name it.
Optional: Smother the TV-B-Gone with tape so nothing can get to it, then add altoids to the other side so you can eat mints while terrorizing television. This also helps for getting out of trouble, if a teacher says "Let me see that." Just say "Here, have an altoids." Give them an altoids, then just put it away.
The Final Product:
Remember, try bringing it to football games and bars, it’s a lot of fun (just dont get killed)
Sorry for the lack of images, I am not currently in posession of my remote, but Ill try to update this egg once i get it. I also plan on making an updated version with a 9 volt battery and extended range. |

Using a bit of mylar behind the LED that shoots the signal will increase the range drastically.
It also works good for TV remotes. |
