(RE members. If you scroll down you might see a long list. If you don’t like it fine. Don’t go voting zeros just cause it’s long. Trust me. I’ll bet you that ten people who read my egg compared to another how-to-rubix-get-nice blogs or w/e, 9/10 ppl will say mines better. I had 5 never before done rubix cube people and made them read this. and look… they can do it too like candoo.)
Ah…. the Rubik’s cube. A little toy in which people stress over and get pissed at. A square box like toy in which you can turn the sides.
I got one last month and with a help for my good friend from XC, I managed to complete it in under 1:50 seconds.
So here I am writing up an egg on how to finish it. THIS IS A LONG EGG. I RECOMMEND YOU TO PUT THIS IN YOUR FAV. SO THAT YOU CAN REFER TO IT WHEN YOU WANT TO LATER. This it too long to put in one egg so its divided.
ALSO, IF YOU ARE GOING ON A TRIP ON A PLANE OR W/E, PRINT THIS OUT. THIS WILL TAKE SOME TIME.
There are many ways in which to finish the Rubik’s cube. I heard that there are over 3 million ways. I’m going to teach you one way.
The white face must always be on the bottom. Always! I can’t stress this enough.
Ok, just for reference,
White Opposite Yellow
Green Opposite Blue
Orange Opposite Red
Here is the terms of the cube.
Center Piece
Edge Piece
Corner Piece
Face Face
Top Face
Side Right Face
Side Left Face
Row any row is with three pieces
Other terms
1- Trigger- to turn the TOP Face Counter Clockwise. (looking from the top)
2- Trigger2- to turn the SIDE Face up. (forget until I say so)
3- Up-move the side up.
4- Down-move the side down.
5- Ctrigger-Counter trigger, turn the Top Face Clockwise (looking from the top)
You all might be confused by the first trigger and the second trigger. They change along the way. I’ll tell you when they change,
CHAPTER 1-To make the whole white side.
PART 1
Here, we are trying create the flower.
Here is my cube.
Rule #1, when you turn the sides. ALWAYS put the white side down.
You want to make a flower with white pedals and a yellow center like this. (The other corners does not matter.)
the only white side which will make up the pedals are the Edge Pieces.
These two white pieces are the pieces which will make up the pedals.
Look how I move the piece up to the yellow Center Piece. One side of the pedals is done. (pic1) There are two Edge piece in this picture. Can you see it? There are 3 pieces, but the bottom right corner is not one of them. (pic2)
ah wait, there is another white edge piece, you’ll need to solve for this too.
these three parts must be put together with white instead of these colors. O btw, the yellow is on top cause yellow is opposite the white.
you would move this TOP counterclockwise so that the two edges will fill the parts in which the pedals will fit in. Can you see?
RULE #2 never move more than 1 side at a time.
All I did was bring up the left side and the right side up. Do you see how this edges will move up to fill the pedal part? The filled gray square will fill the non-filled gray square.
I changed the cube a little bit, but that doesn’t matter. See how we need one more edge to complete the flower?
Not always would the edges be on the Sides however, the edge could also be on the bottom!

Luckily, the bottom is the easiest cause all you need to do it match the bottom side with the top side so that the edge o the bottom will be directly under the part of the pedal which is missing.
video4139
So all I need to do is turn the Face two times so that the Bottom Row replaced the Top Row. The pen was there so that it wouldn’t fall down.
ah you have the flower now. If you have the flower and extra white pieces as filled in corners, you are lucky. The more you have the better. Here in this picture your have one extra.
Done with PART 1
RULE #3 The center piece never moves. Never eva.
Summery:
-All the pieces which make up the pedal is the edges, NEVER anything else.
-Turn the edge pieces Up on the sides and face.
-Turn the bottom face so that the white edges on the bottom are directly under the missing pedal piece.
PART 2-trying the make the white cross.
Here s probably the most easiest part of the cube. As created in the last part we have the flower. Now we will make the white cross. Do you see that the extra white piece we had from the flower filled in the white corner?
Overall, this makes creating the whole white side easier.
Ok, we already know about the EDGE pieces and that they have two pieces next to each other.
We need to move the piece which is next to the white piece so that, THAT piece is next to the same color center.
This is what I mean.
Next to the white edge is the blue piece
That blue piece must be aligned to this blue center.
We will move the top so that the blue piece will align the blue center.
ps. I know this seems repetitive but I’m trying to make it as easy as it is.
As the blue edge piece and blue center piece are aligned, we move the FACE face (refer back to terms) TWO TIMES on either side. Does not care which side.
now you cant see the bottom, but you can see that the two blue piece which were on the top are on the bottom.
BEFORE (my bad, I forgot to take a picture of the one that’s not turned a bit L)
AFTER
Now the white EDGE piece is aligned to the white center.
Again, this egg took a long time so I had to change it up. The orientation is totally different but the white edge is next to the white center. And the blue edge piece is with the blue center piece.
You do this to the rest of the white edges.
Red-align the red edge piece next (to the white edge piece) with the red center. Turn Face face two times.
Blue-align the blue piece next (to the white edge piece) with the blue center. Turn Face face two times.
Green- same concept.
Orange-same concept.
By the end you will have something like this.
You have the white cross.
Summery:
-what you align is the other color edge piece that is next to the white edge piece.
-you align the other color edge piece with it’s corresponding color center. (you have to move the top several times to align it.)
-when you have everything aligned, you turn the FACE face two times either to the left or right. (does not matter)
PART 3
You now have the white cross, w/e you have as the other corners (refer back to terms), does not really matter. As long as you have the white cross w/e color you have as the corners does not matter.
Now here’s the bit tricky part.
RULE #4 since you have the white cross, the rest of the white pieces are all the corner pieces. If you have any white edge pieces, on the sides or top, you need to start over.
Here are my white corner pieces.
video4161
The best Scenario for this is when the left over white corner pieces are here on the top row of the sides. The purple colored corner pieces are best cause it finishes the job easier. The Brown colored corner pieces are second best.

but that view is looking directly in front.
This is the top view.
You see that the gray colored corner pieces are the worst to deal with personally cause they take a second longer when putting them together, to me this is long cause when you try to do it in your best time. A second means a second slower.

Btw, color the corners on the top view gray all four and write bad L in ms paint.
Take a coffee break. Calm down. It gets complicated from here. Read carefully what each part means.

Dec 05, 2007 3:16 pm - i could do it in 1;13 with this method. yeah, its not done. more to come. it took about a week, reading and revising just the first parts. slim, its not that easy. i tried.
De 06, 2007 8:08 am - Fuck that was long, but I like long things, and cubes are hard, i like hard things.
So because this is long and hard and i like long and hard things you get a 5
