Hey, DaDevil here with another long awaited egg.
This egg is on "Goldeneye: Source" - a free Mod for Steam, which is a standalone game, but requires you to already have a Steam account, and a "Source" game already installed. Goldeneye: Source, is of course modeled on the original Nintendo 64 game Goldeneye 007, and it sticks to detail, with better graphics to pack!
I will go through the processes of detailed how to on installing (Info thanks to Goldeneye: Source Wiki) and even telling that there is a Server I have made for Rotteneggs members to join and battle it out in the ultimate, Goldeneye: Source.
As I said, for this to work, you need a valid Steam account, and the program Steam, and a "Steam" game from Steam already installed.
The following list of games that allow Goldeneye: Source to work are as follows:
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 Episode One
Half-Life 2 Episode Two
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Counter-Strike: Source
Day of Defeat: Source
Team Fortress 2
Portal
I have only one game in my source account which is Day of Defeat: Source which meant I’m in business!
NOTE: If you do not have any of the above listed games on your Steam account, go to Phil’s egg HERE - where it goes through tremendous detail on getting free Steam games that you usually have to pay for!
Okay, so assuming you have Steam and any of the listed games, we can continue! If not, just go to Phil’s egg and get one using his brilliant method. Props to him for that!
The first thing you’ve got to do, is open the program Steam and log into your account (if it doesn’t allready automatically do that).
Click on the "TOOLS" tab. It should have a lit of available tools to download for Steam. Ones that are grey, havn’t been installed yet.
As you can see, the top one has been installed, this is Source SDK Base. You need this to run Goldeneye: Source, don’t worry, it’s a free installation, it’s roughly 100mb give or take. To select this, and install it if you already havn’t - just select it, and click the button install below. My one has already been installed.
Now, this won’t take long, depending on your connection speed. It took me a couple of mins to have it installed.
The next item on the agenda to download, is the actual "SETUP" for Goldeneye: Source. It’s an .EXE, but don’t worry this is safe too. If you feel the need to have it in .ZIP form, yes that’s possible too, but bigger for somereason, all you need is the exe and you’re good to go.
Download the Setup from the range of Mirrors, HERE. Select the one in accordance with your country, etc. It will take you too the site where it is hosted for download. This file is about 180mb.
The setup exe can be downloaded anywhere on your computer. But when you are actually installing the mod itself, it MUST be within a certain folder in the Steam folder.
Here’s where it’l either be located:
C:\\Program Files\\Valve\\Steam\\SteamApps\\SourceMods
Or:
C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\SteamApps\\SourceMods
Either way, the mod HAS to be installed within the "SourceMods" folder, in "SteamApps", in the Steam folder - wherever you installed the program Steam.
The installation shouldn’t take long. I went to take a dump during it and it was already completed so yeah.
When the installation IS completed. Exit Steam completely, make sure it just didn’t get minimised to the taskbar. You need to restart Steam for the installation to take effect. When you have, Goldeneye: Source, should be in the list of "Your Games" in Steam, like so:
Now you can play!!!
Here’s the Menu Screen, when you are in Goldeneye: Source. I play it in a window, not full screen, because it laggs abit in FULL screen, also, people talk to me on MSN and stuff.
You can either join a Sever, or create your own for people to play in!

I like FPS
I reccomend everyone download ’Soldier Of Fortune - Double Helix MP Test’ if they like First Person Shooters, it doesnt require steam or anything
and you join servers and try get as many kills as you can.
Its only around 52mb
