Ok, so pretty much I’ve been getting a five finger discount for the past couple of years and have gotten a LOT of stuff, pretty much all clothes and makeup but recently the local mall has increased it’s protection and while i still go there, now the only stores you can go to are Hollister, Abercrombie, AE etc. So, I’ve been branching out and going to botiques for clothes mostly or other malls, but now i need to find more ways of scoring makeup and stuff because the body works now has a new security system (the walk through kind). So, I want to know if barcodes set off the walk through alarm systems, because from what I understand, only the ones with metal in them do...so if it’s printed on the bottle of on the makeup like so:

then I should be able to take it right? So um, should I disregard these barcodes and just take the stuff or should I continue to peel off the barcodes on makeup even if it’s like just plastic and theres no metal in it. Because most make up already has barcodes on it and im pretty sure it’s just for pricing. Btw, anyone hit up a bed bath and beyond? One just opened near me and I scoped it out, it looks hella easy....

Thanks so much for your help! Sry this was kinda long lol

They don’t make a magical ink that tells people when you steal stuff. It isn’t there because it is magic and sets off the alarms, its there for pricing, you naive 12 year old.

I’ve never seen the store, but in ’amerika’ there is a store called ’cvr’ and according to snopes, 1 out of 4 of the stores only put security labels on hair products targeting black people,
the hair products targeting white people have no security whatsoever.

So you could try find the store ’Cvr’ and steal white people stuff :)

Only articles of merchandise that sport EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) technology will set off the alarms. Circumvention can be acheived on all types by physically piercing the conductive or ferromagnetic material with a sharp object (altering the frequency: preventing reception ;).
Please refer to the URL for pictures and more in-depth information. http://en.wikipedia.org/w ki/Electronic_article_surv illance

to answer you question yes some bar codes do set off alarmes they are new and not many people know about them they are not printed though they are stickers that are placed on top of the real bar code and if your not looking for them you wont notice so just keep an eye out and youll be abil to spot them

No they don’t. No barcodes set off the alarms; there may on the very odd occasion be an acusto tag or an electromagnetic tag underneath the barcode sticker.

No food or shit like shampoo will set off the alarms dumbass; you can just fill up a bag from the supermarket throw it into your cart and walk right out.

God you kids know nothing about shoplifting.
Just stick to buying your shit because you’re the type of "thieves" who will leave ripped open packaging to be seen lying around the store; then they’ll check cctv and possibly see us real thieves on cam at some point.

People like you make me sick.
0 on 45 and the author of this egg and ANYONE else who believes barcodes set off alarms.
