What You Need
#1- You will need True Crypt, which can be found here... http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads.php
#2- A Computer running Windows 2000 and above or Linux.
#3- A brain

True Crypt is a great program that was once even used by the U.S. Government, so it is sure to keep files safe and secure.

Once you install True Crypt, unzip the file using whatever program you choose to use and than open the program. On the True Crypt startup page click "create volume" which is on the lefthand side. You will then be asked if you want to make a hidden or normal volume. There isn’t too much of a difference between the two, hidden makes it so there is another volume inside the normal volume. But that is all.

In this tutorial we will go over the installation of a normal volume (installing a hidden volume every step is repeated twice). When you are finished selecting which type of volume you want to make, you will be asked for the location and the name you want it to be. Choose C:/True Crypt, and name it whatever you like,(I named mine Volume).

Now you can select which type of encryption we want for the True Crypt volume (For a nice de5cription of each hash, check out the readme that came with True Crypt.)

Now, once you select which type of encryption you want you choose the size, select how big you want it to be, it can range from 18kb to as large as you would like, (mine is 200 MB for example).

Once you have chosen the size of the volume created, you will be prompted for the volume password you want. Like any password, the longer and more complicated your password is the more secure it is, but if you forget you cannot get back into the volume, unless you select the "display password" box, and it displays the password. You can also create a keyfile if you would like.

After creating your passwords/keyfiles you will have a weird page, what you do is you move your curser around wherever and part way through press enter or hit the format button. What that does is it creates a random pool, which is the encryption key, so the more random and the longer you go the more random and secure your encryption key will be. Once it has finished formatting the volume, it is ready for use.

Now that you have your True Crypt volume it is time to mount it. Which is located at the main True Crypt page. First select the volume you wish to mount the True crypt volume on (the volumes are mounted like a hard drive for ease of use), lets say Z: , Then press "select file" and browse to C:/True Crypt where the true crypt volume is located.

After selecting the file, press "Mount" (the big button on the bottom left). You will be asked for a password or keyfile.

Once entering the password/keyfile your True Crypt file is open. Feel free to hide whatever files you would like!

This egg took a long time to make and I hope you all enjoyed it! If you cannot see the pictures for some reason, here are links to the pictures on my photobucket.

Eh...this egg is ok, but you didn’t mention hidden volumes.

Also, only a single type of encryption is more than enough. Anything like "*+*" or even "*+*+*" is overkill, it will just take longer to create the volume.
