Yes you can build a firearm with an airsoft. It just won’t work properly.
Most airsoft pistols can shoot a BB hard enough to detonate the primer of a center rifle or pistol cartridge.
What you will need:
A crap airsoft pistol called the Colt 25.
It has minimal workmanship and can be bought somewhat cheap. You need the ones with the orange federal tip.
Some bullets.
An .12 or .20 airsoft BB
Hacksaw and pliers
How to:
Its simple. Take your new gun out of its package, run thru it a couple time to familiarize yourself with it, and then hack off the orange tip.
You don’t need to cut all the way thru. Its actually important you don’t do that. Using the hacksaw cut away until the orange is gone and its replaced with the black barrel. Use the pliers and carefully rip of the orange tip without breaking anything else on the gun.
Now your gun should look like this
Without the orange tip, the barrel falls out, leaving a hole large enough to stick a cartridge into it.
Cut the barrel that fell out into 4 pieces. Take the end piece and stick it back in glue that in place.
What fits and what doesn’t.
Fits loose
9mm Luger
.223
.38 spl
These three will require paper to be wrapped around the bullets so they are centered and fitted properly.
7.62x39 fits perfectly at the muzzle of the gun.

I removed the slide (it comes off easy) because I didn’t like it.
Load a BB, pull back on the slide, and pull the trigger. BAM! You wake up in the hospital.
Its not a real gun because it cannot take the high pressures of real guns. But it can fire off live ammo. I’d imagine its a good booby trap.
On a different airsoft, this time at 380 fps, I was able to hit a shot shell on the primer so it also blew up. If you can ge t a powerful pistol you don’t mind blowing up, 3/4" PVC pipe, and a adapter of some sort, you can also fire shotshells too!
Notes on how to get ammo if you’re not of age:
Under 18- too young to buy ammo period. Get an older guy to buy it for you. Get it free sometime from firing ranges because some people accidentally lose their unfired ammo.
Under 21- or too young to buy handgun ammo, but old enough to buy rifle ammo:
Tell them its for a Ruger 9mm. the Ruger 9mm is a long gun and legal in many states. 38 spl, and you’re out of luck. Theres a chance you might be 9mm luger, but there is no 38 special for long guns.
Don’t want to spend money? Shoplift Walmart during the beginning of hunting season. They have huge bricks of 100 shotshells without protection of lock and key. I’m not responsible if you get caught.

Jan 16, 2008 11:50 am - the point was to get the idea out so smarter people would add their own barrel so the bullets would go straight. And I can’t own a handgun yet. Stupid people in California requires me to be 21 first. I don’t want to wait 2 years.
I’ve done the shotgun thing with a Hsc Mauser airsoft pistol, it works. I just wouldn’t want to be too close to it when I fire it. Its a good booby trap or something.
