Just a basic guide on how to save your game data off your Playstation 3. I am also gonna show you how to upload other saved files that you can download. Stuff You Need -A Brain
-A Playstaion 3
-A Flash Drive
Step 1 In these first few steps im gonna show you how to save your game data. First plug you Flash Drive into you Playstation 3.
Step 2 Then with your controller scroll over to "Game" then down to "Saved Data Utility"
Step 3 Now find the game you want to save. Then click triangle on your controller.
Step 4 Click "Copy"
Step 5 Click "X" when you see this screen.
Step 6 Make sure the copy goes to 100 percent.
Step 7 If it says this then it is done copying over.
Step 8 Plug you Flash Drive into your computer.
Step 9 When you open your flash drive click on the ps3 folder,Then click on "SAVEDATA". Then a folder will be in there which is usually a bunch of random numbers and letters. Double click on it and if you see those 4 files in there you have done this successfully.
Great now we have learned how to take the saved files off the Playstation 3. This is good to know for when we install Linux, which may be the next egg. Now it is time to put the files back on or download some and put them on.
A Little Intro Basically you can put any saved Playstation 3 data on the internet for your friends to download if you want, Or if you want just go to your friends house and upload them. I use saved files to test games before I buy them so I know the beginning is good the middle is good and then end is good.Anyway lets get started.
Step 1 First go to Here and find the game file you want.
Step 2 Im just gonna use armor core as an example, download anyone you want I chose the second one.
Step 3 After downloading it extract it to your Flash Drive. Make Sure the files are in a folder named PS3, then in a folder named SAVEDATA.
Step 4 Plug your Flash Drive into your Playstation 3.
Step 5 Go to Saved Data Utility
Step 6 Click on "USB Device (Flash Disk)"
Step 7 See there it is on the Flash Drive. Click Triangle on you Playstation 3 Controller.
Step 8 Click "Copy"
Step 9 Make sure it copy’s to 100 percent.
Step 10 There you go as you can see its been uploaded to my Playstation 3 and in my saved games file.

Jan 15, 2008 7:41 pm - Hey grunter my computer desk is small first of all....my ps3 sits on my computer desk so i can easily access the files and the internet without alot of moving secondly my computer desk is packed with so much junk, thirdly the ps3 is less than a arms length away and so is the bong so when i must of grabbed it to smoke the most likely place would be on my desk away from me and in a clean spot
thout the ps3 cant run saved data larger then 2 gigs from hd? (due to firmware security) ?
Another load of bullshit rumors. As bad as the "PS3 copy protects the disc so you can only play it on the same console" and the Xbox 360’s "Chip crackers".
