This is an egg on making really simple but extremely effective blow darts. Unfortunately I can’t upload pictures so you have to visualize. This idea has been around for a while but i didn’t see it on RE so here it is. NOT C/P. And if you think it is go fuck a duck.

The blowpipe.
The blow pipe is really simple, these darts fit perfectly into a regular drinking straw. Try not to use the ones with bends in them.

The darts

Materials needed.
-Round, coreless shoelaces, must have plastic ends.
-Sewing needles of various lengths
-Lighter
-Scissors
-A victim

1. With the scissors cut off the ends of the shoelace
with about 1cm of cord left on them. collect as many as youd like, Newer laces are better becuase the plastic gets brittle with age.

2. Take a sewing needle and fray the cord left on the chopped ends. The more frayed the better they fly.

3. heat the plastic with the lighter. Do not melt the plastic! You just want to soften it.

4 force the needle through the middle of the plastic end so the point is on the opposite the frayed cord. You now have a completed dart.

Use a toothpick to help load the darts into the straw. When the darts fly the tuft of cord folds down for an ideal areodynamic shape. When the darts hit the target kinetic energy spreads the turft giving a nice effect. You can frevent the tuft from folding in flight by using the pins with the plastic bead instead of needles. They won’t fly as far.
Drill a hole in a cork and slide it down the straw. you have a simple, easy place to store your darts. Forcing the needle through the tightly bound cord at the tip can be difficult. If thats the case i suggest using flat laces. These are folded in the end and you can push the needle between the fold a lot easier. However the tuft is thinner and the has has less mass. Your choice.

Try using long needles and about an inch for the tuft length for a good squirrel killin dart. Shoot out of an airgun.

If your dumb enough to make or use poisons good for you, theres other eggs to talk about them.
