Today, i’m gonna show you how to put up a fuckin sweet rig, just like this guy’s for under 10 bucks.
Unless, of course, i’m not.
which i’m not.
either way, here’s what you’re gonna need...
-------------- 2 monitors --------------
sorry there’s no pic for this, but if you don’t know what the fuck a monitor looks like, you shouldn’t be alive right now in this time period.
or you need to get out of the farm more often.
-------- A DVI to CRT converter ------------
These are about five bucks and you can pick them up at most PC specialty stores.
next thing you’ll need (and last)
------ a video card with dual screen capability-----
These are actually pretty common. If your pc uses a newer Nvidia card, it should have a back that looks something like this.
That little black port isn’t good for much, but after you’ve gotten your converter, just plug it into the white side (AFTER INSTALLING IT INTO YOUR PC).
next, it should be pretty apparent. plug both monitors into a jack and boot your pc.
here’s a site for something called Nvidia Forceware.
this’ll let you set up the dual monitors and position them and whatnot.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html
and here’s another site for something called DisplayFusion. If you’re weird like me and want 2 different wallpapers for your monitors, here you go.
http://www.binaryfortress.com/displayfusion/
and yea, that’s grandma’s boy.
LOVE IT NAU >8D |

 | Feb 25, 2008 7:45 pm - uhhhh ill 5 this if you tell me how they have like more than 2 screens and on each screen something different is running, i can have both of my screens showing the same image or one image stretched over both screens. |

 | Feb 25, 2008 8:16 pm - Fuck yeah, i always wanted to set this up!
5* |

 | Feb 25, 2008 8:18 pm - Sleven, i don’t know if you’re asking, but i’ve been on a computer with this before, you can have like say a full screen video playing on one while typing something on the other, i don’t know if that answers your question. |

 | Feb 25, 2008 9:49 pm - Stza, the "black port" he mentioned is for s-video which can plug into a suporting tv, just check that the pins on the card and the pins on the tv are the same (usually either 6 pin or 4 pin). converter cables can be purchased if they are different. |

 | eb 25, 2008 10:16 pm - sleven, being able to stretch your whole total screen over two monitors is all this is. it’s not like you get 2 different pc’s out of this.
though i have been burning to be able to play a game like GUNZ Online and have one screen the game screen and the other full of stats :3 |

 | Feb 25, 2008 10:16 pm - it’s all in the settings |

 | Feb 25, 2008 10:37 pm - ......or you could ask a person at a computer store for 5 minutes, instead of making a shitty ass simple egg about it. idc anymore, i’d rate this 0, but ill rate it 1* to get some ep |

 | Feb 26, 2008 12:43 am - ^^^Flame-Bait!
5* from me. I’ve been wondering about how to do this too. |

 | Feb 26, 2008 1:10 am - i have always known this 5 anyways and also you can make the two monitors have different things yo just have to change some settings. |

 | Feb 26, 2008 5:05 am - cool |

 | Feb 26, 2008 5:05 am - cool |

 | Feb 26, 2008 12:49 pm - good i guess, 5 stars, but most newer cards don’t even have vga ports anymore, just 2 dvi and an S video. Also in display select your second monitor and click off extend desktop to this display or whatever it should fix some problems |

 | Fe 26, 2008 1:10 pm - huh, didn’t know that. i guess you could just use two converters. also, that’s just in vista, right? |

 | Feb 26, 2008 3:59 pm - alright i’m not gonna do this but i am curious. i got them connectors. but they’re from a windows 3.1. would it work? |

 | Feb 26, 2008 7:00 pm - wait, so as you drag across one monitor to the next, it goes to the other one?
also, can you hide shortcuts in the middle between where you can’t really see?
hide some prons files... |

 | Feb 26, 2008 7:34 pm - 5* on the egg, 5* on profile if you explain how to do this for an iMac (yes, running XP). |

 | Feb 27, 2008 11:54 am - I don’t think its possible for the Imac |

 | Feb 27, 2008 4:26 pm - 5*s |

 | Feb 28, 2008 7:19 am - seen a computer like this, its sick! 5* |

 | Feb 28, 2008 2:06 pm - they look like older Nvidia cards to me.. i got the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT and can dual monitor with just the 1 card... just a point so 2* |

 | Mar 02, 2008 7:20 am - If someone has this setup, go to the control panel--display thing. Swap monitors 1 and 2. It’ll be confusing when the mouse pointer doesn’t go back and forth across both monitors. I have this setup at work, with important stuff on one monitor, and Rotteneggs on the other. |

 | Mar 03, 2008 2:14 pm - reegz, the only way to run it on most pc’s is off of one card as there’s only one slot for agp cards on most motherboards, and one of the things there is a 5200 (both GEForce), so other than those and up, i’m not sure what has the DVI ports |

 | Mar 04, 2008 11:52 am - if i have a regular video card that has both the blue and black input jacks, can i get the converter thing and just use one input jack? im a really cheap person, so yeah. thanks |
