First off, I have tried this at 2 different Gamestops, the first time was by accident, and the second was on purpose.
IF YOU ARE LAZY AND JUST WANT TO SEE HOW TO DO IT, SCROLL DOWN TO THE "LETS REVIEW" SECTION.
On to what happened. While I was in Gamestop, I was looking at all the used games (I usually always buy used.) I took some cases off the shelf to look at the games behind them and put those cases i took off behind the other cases on the shelf. I finally decided to buy FEAR, one of the games whose case was behind the rest. I went to the counter and asked for it. He pulled it out of the little drawer thing and went to the shelf to look for the case. He never could find it so he gave me $4 off the game.
The second time I did this, I purposely did it for COD2 for xbox 360. There were around 3 cases and i just hid all of them behind cases of Forza Motorsports 2. I went to the counter and got a $5 discount because it was a different guy at a different Gamestop.
Lets Review. 1. Find the target game you want in the USED GAMES section.
2. Hide all of the cases of that game behind other games or any other hiding spot (usually only works when there are less than like 10 of the cases.)
3. Go to the counter and tell them the name of the game, they will take it out of the drawer and look for the case. When they can’t find it, they will discount you.
FAQS
Q:Why does this work?
A:The guy at the first Gamestop told me that sometimes people steal the cases thinking games are in them which is a reason that the cases could be gone.
Q:Does this work with new games?
A:NO
Q:Will this work will all used games?
A:Only if there are few cases of it left in the store.
